Starting to use MMO in fuel

Manufacturers did not count on alcohol in the fuel.
We have to deal with this nuisance.
MMO helps lube the pump, for sure. So does a little 2 stroke oil.

I started using MMO as an UCL and fuel line lubricant, gain in MPG is a nice bonus.

Who, what???? What are you talking about??? I am not hiding any facts, I am posting what I HAVE EXPERIENCED. Placebo effect??? More like several years of the Excel MPG spreadsheets.

I realize that merely questioning MMO's miraculous ability could invite some flaming, however, that was not my goal. I'm just baffled by all of the praise. Not even synthetic oil, whether PP, Mobil, German Castrol, etc, receives such praise and, in my opinion, it really deserves it a whole lot more.
I recall all of the talk about Slick 50 not too long ago. It was basically getting the same praise as MMO---better MPG, more power, smoother, more protection, better cold starts, better idling, etc. Yeah, there really isn't an end-all-be-all-cure and, again, the butt dyno really can't be trusted. I just wanted to balance the very pro-MMO talk here and state as several others have that we saw no results from using MMO (except less cash in the wallet)...and I'm still wondering whether MMO employees lurk here.

You put words in my mouth that I never said (more power after using MMO), you accused me of lying, of working for MMO (in Alaska, of all places) and now I am flaming you????? Life must be really boring in Oklahoma.

I've used MMO in alot of vehicles(carb & EFI) and the only ones that I have noticed any difference in is the carb'd vehicles or lawnmowers/snowblowers. I stopped using MMO in my wifes Lexus RX and my Nissan Altima but, still use it in my 80 PONTIAC Firebird FORMULA V8 4BBL.

That's why I use it. I've noticed no mileage change or feel, but I like the idea of a upper cylinder and fuel pump lube.

From my reading/research, I have noticed that most people don't really notice much or any difference with MMO but, most people like the "IDEA OF MMO" for it's lube factor. This is just what I have gathered, not fact! But, like I mentioned, I do notice it's benefits in carb'd engines.

Actually,I can tell more of a difference using the Lucas fuel treatment. The problem is it really thickens up in cold weather.

I think if your fuel system is really clean then you may not notice much difference with MMO, I did not notice anything with MMO in my gas until the 3rd tank with MMO in the fuel as a Maintenance Dose.

Not everyone notices a difference, especially in a well maintained or newer engine. I use it in my 08 Jeep and see no real difference either, but then again I started adding it to the gas at 300 miles on the clock.

I'm after the UCL benefits, and protecting the cylinders from flash rusting when it sits for long periods of time. In my 180,000 mile Aerostar I can tell when the MMO is added to the gas, the idle is better.

+1 What I see honest unpaid for testimony. In my book that is the best kind of testimony.

I've tried both MMO and TC-W3 in gasoline.

In my 1997 i30, the MMO seems to help a bit, as others report. Haven't gathered enough data to be sure about TC-W3 effects on it.

In my wife's 2009 Sonata i4, MMO has no positive effect I notice, if anything it increases fuel consumption slightly. TC-W3 clearly increases fuel consumption in the Sonata.

Doses - MMO: 4 oz / 10 gal. TC-W3: 2 oz / 10 gal.

TC-W3 brand: Quicksilver, pint bottles dated 2006.

My conclusion: I don't bother with either in the Sonata anymore. In my i30 I keep experimenting, since it seems to help and doesn't hurt. But sometimes I get tired of preparing the dose and pouring it in at the gas station.

Try cutting back on the dose a little. Also keep in mind that during the winter fuel consumption usually increases due to the fuel blend, the car running richer longer, along with other factors.

Like I mentioned earlier, I do notice the difference in carb'd engines and I have gone back & fourth with MMO on them. I still use MMO! I may even dose the newer(EFI) cars now and again! I do like the idea that it is inexpensive and helpful.

From my experience, MMO is the real deal. I'm on my 3rd tank and I notice the engine is a lot quieter and smoother after start-up while the engine is getting to opt temp. My 05 Corolla's 1ZZFE is usually noticeably loud in the winter. Too many variables to notice any MPG gains though.
