Soliciting thoughts- 2019 DRW F350 stolen (salvage but clear title)

Worded wrong by me. I meant to say insurance did not identify the truck a total loss by Texas statues.
Listing says, Title/Sale Doc:ORIGINAL (Texas). No mention of salvage. I would run an NMVTIS check on it and maybe check the jurisdiction it was stolen in whether it was removed from the hot sheet. You don't want to be pulled over and have them check the VIN to find it's still reported stolen.

The thing that jumped out at me from the pictures was the misaligned doors on the passenger side. That could indicate major structural damage (frame). The other stuff you mentioned are just bolt on parts that can be sourced used.

But I love your spirit of adventure on these projects. I always follow them with anticipation.

Thanks, I have a copy of the title dated 25MAY2023, so this aligns with the carfax- all is well. I just typed a poor response. All I was trying to say was that a insurance company is typically a party to false disclosures, and the insurance company accesses damages on a Texas titled truck, in Texas, according to Texas statues. Of course, the insurance adjuster is human.

Yes, those doors are certainly a huge red flag, along with the F250 label Rhonda Honda pointed out. I just can't imagine who would take the time to "fix" any damage on a stolen vehicle that is owned by the insurance company. But we will find out.....

Also, looks like the door handle trims are missing on all four doors.

I'm concerned about that cluster, there's no reason the compass should be illuminated while it appears the key is off. Could be a weak battery, but don't they usually throw a jump pack on to start them while taking pictures?

Yes, they try and start the car and other items and a jump pack is often part of the process. The hazard lights on, and the compass, and mileage but nothing else. All flags......

I feel like the mileage and compass may show when the door is opened but no key on. Maybe not so odd.

Found a person in San Antonio that seems to have the rest of your interior, but he wants a pretty penny for it. Nearly $10K including the rear seats.

Excited to see what comes of this adventure. Admire your ability to jump on these projects and share with the rest of us.
J333,

Thanks so much for posting this! I must be tired, I am only seeing $4700 as the price, I will relook tomorrow. I had six crowns pulled and reattached today- so I am a bit light headed from sitting in the dentist chair for hours.

Also, I know 2017-2019 seats will work/ compatible. 2020 had updates, not sure if 2020 seats will seamlessly work in a 2019.

GON, I am pretty sure that both front fenders with the F250 emblems and all four doors have not been tampered with or removed since the truck was wrecked. If you go to the IAAI listing site and select the 360 degrees view, there are several impact witness marks on the fenders where the grill guard made impact.

Likewise, the deep paint scratches on the front/aft doors align with scratches on the bed. By enlarging the 360 view, it is clear that all four door handle surround trim pieces are intact, but painted body color. Conspicuously, the right side door gaps do not appear to be as extreme as depicted in the above still photo. Perhaps the doors were not fully shut in the still photo? One slightly positive sign is that the gap between the right front and rear doors appear to be uniform from top to bottom in the 360 view.

Like the others posted in this thread, I'm looking forward to seeing how you navigate the challenges posed by this new acquisition. Wishing you luck in another successful restoration!

Newest (possible) discovery. All the rear seats I have found have the headrest built in. Yet this truck has two of the three rear headrests in the truck- less the seats. hmmmmmm.

Also, the king ranch label goes with the F350 label on the front fenders, These F250 labels do not say king ranch. Maybe those were pulled. Also, most trucks like this have factory rocker steps, I suppose this truck did also- another item pulled for quick sale?

We will see. I broke a lot of my own "rules" on this one. What I liked was the clear title, Texas its whole life, one owner, dealer maintained, and lower miles.

I just had a heart attack when I looked at the wholesale aftermarket cost for the left rear tailight. If this truck has blind spot monitor, the left tailight is $950 USD. OUCH.....

Yeap, I've seen the same on some of the Ford truck forums. The BS sensors are EXPENSIVE! I don't if anyone has found a way to bypass them or not but it's probably doable.

Gents,

Lots of kind words and great/ helpful comments. You guys are motivating me. I am starting to study the truck pictures with a higher level of focus/ intensity.

Thanks again All!
