Soliciting thoughts- 2019 DRW F350 stolen (salvage but clear title)

I've never seen a vehicle show compass with door open key off. Odometer yes.
On these trucks they show the compass with the odometer when you open the door. See the pic I posted earlier. That is normal.

GON, looking at the pictures of the passenger side doors again it might only be the rear door that is out of wack. The gaps on the top of the front door look good.

Edit to add: unfortunately I think this goes against your thoughts earlier that the doors might have been just hung on haphazardly. I think that back door is twisted pretty bad.

.......... Every picture I’ll I’m seeing is a lot of money getting spent

That's what I'm seeing as well...... But then again, I don't have GON's expertise or experience in bringing these basket cases back to life either.

It totally amazes me how something that expensive and nice can get that screwed up, that fast, just by being owned by people. That thing cost over twice as much new, as my first house did, which was over 20 years old when I bought it!

@GON -have you confirmed the VIN in fact decodes to an F-350? I’d assume IAA did but wondered if maybe this was some F-250 to DRW F-350 conversion project. Maybe try a Ford parts dept to see what trim package comes back to the VIN? The headrest issue is weird.

RH, yes the VIN does come back as a F350. I did order a new window sticker from Ford, but it comes in the mail and takes week. I tried to get a build sheet from compnine, but the VIN is not showing up in their database. Compnine database only goes through 2019, and the automated reply is this VIN may not yet be in their database.

On the interior, the two key missing pieces are the rear seats and the center console. I did find a Seller of seats that clearly stated 2017-2019 seats are interchangeable, and 2020-2022 seats are interchangeable. But a 2020 seat can't go into a 2019.

A local to me Ebay seller has the center console for $895

This same seller also had the rear seat from a 2019, but sold the seat for $895 in APR 2023:

I going to follow along on this ride. Should be a good one.

GON's Rescues usually are. :)

GON have you thought about placing an ad locally saying "Want to Buy .........". I've found things that way. It's amazing what people people will quit using and then squirrel away for decades. I found a set of intact, original 1965 Mustang seat's in a guy's shed a few years ago.

*Locally = as far as you're willing to drive.

On the plane enroute to try and pickup the F350. Started to get some background on why the truck "won't start".

Starting to wonder if the center console missing may be the reason. Watching this 1 minute video, it demonstrates how to start the truck when " no key detected".

Didn't get her started, I ran out of time and the kicked me out. I think she will start with some amps. Cattle guard prevented me from opening the hood. I need a long screwdriver to push the latch.

Truck has a ton of little things. As long as she runs, I should be in good shape. Heading to San Antonio now to pickup taillights and center console.

I have spent time in every town you mentioned - and have never seen an F350 shredded like that - it’s one thing for the crooks to strip that interior - but that body damage is bizarre …
The actual King Ranch uses heavy “bump gates” - and those ranchers put brush guards on HD pickups …

Based on your pictures it looks like the two passengers side doors are closing fine and are undamaged (except for the paint). In the earlier pictures it looked like they weren't closed all of the way and I know that several people commented that they might have been swapped.

A low or a weak battery can make some vehicles fail to detect those remote keys. I would swap batteries before doing any other troubleshooting.

Any idea what they hit with the RH side of the truck and that did all of that damage?

Speculation only. Truck was stolen and was rode hard off the main terrain on both sides of the boarder. The language is Spanish, the prepackaged food reflects someone working long hours in the vehicle.

But all the issues appear vandalism like. I definitely need and hope no damage to the oil pan. I have no idea I of this version super duty comes with oil pan protector plate.

No idea what the right side. But I am brainstorming some ways to cover the hole until I find a replacement bed, such as a cosmetic rubber plate.

Thanks for the suggestion on the batteries.

I am in San Antonio right now. A guy offered to sell me two taillights and a center console for 1,000. Each taillight wholesale aftermarket runs over 900. So I jumped on his offer

I'm betting if GON gets it running he is pulled over by law enforcement somewhere between Texas and Washington-for an "inquiry".

I mean it does look...let's say "unique".

I’m curious, does the module that senses your key and allows the truck to be started via the push start button, does it live behind the dash or is it in the centre console where the place is to put the key if your fob battery dies? Just wondering encase you get in a situation where it won’t crank.

The module is under the center console. The console is gone, but I located the module and seems ok.
