Soliciting thoughts- 2019 DRW F350 stolen (salvage but clear title)

I just paid $5.19 for unleaded
,3.91 was a bargain.

FWIW I just came back from lunch and I looked that price of gas at three stations on the way back. Mind you, these almost certainly aren't the cheapest around but are probably typical. The prices were $3.19, $3.21 and $3.22 per gallon for regular gas. You folks on the left cost are getting hosed!

Will take off wheel wells shortly and maybe cut off the old bed, piece by piece. I want to do this at home because of tools, so this is a challenge as I have a homeowners association.

I'm surprised that your HOA hasn't already complained about the looks of your truck. Around here, they certainly would have.

I got the truck out of there, because of the HOA. Don't want to give them a reason. Started working on the truck at the hotel parking lot annex. Had to do three tool runs which were time killers. Bed is off, leaving it on just to reduce attention.

Man by removing that cattle guard you probably picked up a few miles per gallon! That thing looks heavy. My friend’s f250 had a panel in the bed floor from the factory for a gooseneck, I guess it was tack welded in place.

Yes, it was super heavy. Struggled loading it into the truck to drop off at recycle center.

It's starting to look good now! Are you able to move it back to your residence now to work on the remaining issues? Or does your HOA not allow you to work on vehicles outdoors (since it doesn't seem like it would fit inside the garage)?

Fixing the bed wiring harness this morning. Another mistery. Two wires cut on one side, one wire cut on another. Then the wires were connected just twisting the stranded conductor together, and then heat shrunk. Horrible job on connecting the stranded conductor, but great job with the heat shrink. The heat shrink provides a false confidence. Once the shrink is removed, the barely connected conductors are exposed.

Where did the thief's get heat shrink, instead of electric tape? So weird.

This wasn't their first rodeo.

Placed the tailgate on. Was more work than expected. This tailgate has a lock and electric opener. This meant different tailgate mounts on the bed and a dampener. Super lucky I did not dispose of the damaged bed. Trying to find these parts in this color would have been a challenge. And a big time eater.

Also discovered the thieves likely placed a glued on cap over the rear tailgate assist light. This lights shines brightly when truck is parked and night lights are on.

Also installed the replacement bumper. Found a new 2022, had to move over the parking sensor harness, had to take apart the old bumper to pull it.
