Soliciting thoughts- 2019 DRW F350 stolen (salvage but clear title)

@GON , I have a theory on the headrests. Perhaps removing the headrests makes it easier to get the seats out of the truck. Then the headrests were left, because it simply wasn't important to get rid of them.
BH,

My theory somewhat aligns with yours. After reading the article on removing the back seat to allow more people in the rear of the cab, keeping the headrests gives the visual that the back seats are still in place. All just wild speculation on my part.

N35, I will start a separate thread on my day job, retirement location, and my next job.

And since you are in Manitoba, had one of the most memorable experiences of my life fishing north of the 60th parallel in Manitoba in 1981. You live in "god's country".
Thanks @GON, looking forward to it!

Are you sure you were north of 60? That would have put you past Manitoba's northern boundary, into Nunavut (perhaps still the NWT at that time).

Presuming you were up there in the summer (rather than ice fishing), you would have enjoyed lots of daylight with a very late sunset, and perhaps more mosquitoes etc. than you might have wished for.

N35,

We were a little north of Fort Hall, Manitoba. Maybe my memory is failing me, I was told (teenager- never validated what I was told) we were north of the 60th parallel.

Wow, I'd never even heard of Fort Hall! It is 59° 23' N, and appears to be the 2nd-most northern settlement in the province, behind only Nunela, and edging out the metropolis of Duck Lake Post (neither of which I'd heard of either).

The sun rose today (conveniently, the summer solstice) in Hall Lake at 0427, and will set this evening at 1106 for 18 hours and 33 minutes of daylight.

I was up at Flin Flon for work in 2011, Gillam in 2014, and was based in Snow Lake for a week in 2017. You've got me beat!

Still a teen in '81? I correctly figured you were still a young fellow (compared to me). 😉

Even in the condition. This is probably the best deal you’ll ever get at an auction. That is going to be a super nice truck when it’s said and done.

I'm still waiting for an update from GON. He's been strangely quiet for the last several days. I suppose he on his way to Taxas to pick up that grey truck bed. What a trip! Fly from Washington to Texas and then drive from Texas to Washington, then back to Texas and then back to Washington! And that's not including the side trips to pick up other parts. I hope that truck is comfortable!

FLA, spent the weekend with my Wife. Here is this morning update from Boise, id. Still not sure the color is a match. Stone Gray is a brown and very rare in a dually, and zero confidence I matched the color.

I want to see how this turns out. Good luck and don't crash the new truck, if you crash it your selling price may drop

$3.91 for a gallon of regular gas? Yikes! What gives?

Do I even want to know what diesel costs? I notice that they didn't post the price on their sign.

Low-budget mental number crunching:

US$3.91/US gallon

1 US gallon = 3.78 litres

Therefore, 1 litre is approximately US$1.03

US$1.03 is approximately C$1.37

Local prices are c. C$1.579/litre, so we're more expensive here, but not way more like in the past.
That’s surprising it’s that close to be honest. I filled up here in Alberta yesterday for $1.35 CAD a litre.

Color is a match. The bed I bought had zero options/ upgrades. So lots of wiring and moving stuff, but no big deal. The bigger issue is the truck I bought had the factory kingpin and fifth wheel option mounted to the frame. I want to keep that, so I will be drilling four openings in the replacement bed, along with hole for trailer wiring.

Removed the front cattle guard and rear bumper. The cattle guard was welded to the front bumper. Guess poorly made so weld was done for better stability.
The driver side rear bumper mount as a big bend. The rear bumper mounts to the 3" trailer hitch, so damage is limited to one bracket.

Will take off wheel wells shortly and maybe cut off the old bed, piece by piece. I want to do this at home because of tools, so this is a challenge as I have a homeowners association.
