I have noticed from talking to some co workers and my lady friends that are phlebotomists yesterday that sometimes they think it’s ok to skip a meal. Growing up grandparents pounded into my brother and my head the importance of eating 3 good meals. I hope no one here skips a meal especially if you are active or are on the go and on your feet daily.

Happens to me all the time. All the time.

Layovers, airports, etc. with CV restrictions on dining and limited menus that I can’t eat. Delays in flights that bleed over meal time. Land in a city, everything closed because of the hour. Get to the hotel at 10:30 PM, room service and restaurant closed an hour earlier.

Whatever the cause, it happens a lot. Going 12 hours without food won’t hurt most people. Just drink plenty of water.

About half the time breakfast is coffee & something like a Boost, etc .
Unless dinner was little of nothing will get a small breakfast sandwich

I usually skip lunch. Decent breakfast and dinner though to make up for it.

It's not a hard and fast thing though if I get hungry that day I'll eat lunch.

skipping a meal or watching what you're eating throughout the day, is a very hard work no question

i have breakfast then a pretty big lunch which I consider my supper . then If I get a bit hungry later on before bed I have some fruit

I generally don't skip meals. Often, if I think I won't be able to eat "on time" I'd simply pack something for a meal, something I could eat one-handed if need be. My computer bag often would have some energy bars in it "just in case".

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. I hate skipping meals but sometimes that’s just what happens. When I do it’s usually lunch. Or breakfast since my parents get up so late we usually don’t have time to make it anywhere 😆.

well considering the obesity (and type 2 diabetis) epidemecs in the US, perhaps our parents and grandparents were just plain wrong. I cannot have 3 squares a day without gaining weight. But I have a desk jobs so that factors in big.

I do it when I work Saturdays. I get off at 2:00 PM and don't want to have a late lunch because I won't be hungry for dinner.

I also have some GI issues and occasionally can go all day without feeling hungry at all.

The three meals a day is a luxury created by the well fed, now over fed West. A large number of us - self included - never let the body go into starvation mode to burn the calories accumulated (much needed fat reserves). There is always a meal 3 hours away and we keep preventing the process. You can compliment with workouts, but it takes extra time, planning and a strong commitment.
There is nothing wrong with skipping a meal or two. Most could survive a month or more with the fuel we already have in reserve.

Most people if not all should focus on their calorie intake and the correct number to be at a healthy weight not how many times you eat or when. Unfortunately the vast majority are clueless on how many calories they eat or need to be eating.
