Your reality is really skewed. Not sure what CNN has to do with it.
1) There has been NO illegal wire tapping in the USA. There has been wire tapping since the 1960's of foreign incoming calls from enemy nations. No invasion of rights or privacy there.
2) Free speech suppression? Please cite examples. It's just not happening unless you mean how some want to stifle talk radio.
3) That we can debate forever. I don't think it was "lies".
4) Not sure what this has to do with freedoms, but one of the biggest stock market losses I had was when Canada rolled out the new tax schemes on income trusts. Talk about fraud and theft - grandmas across the land dropped millions (collectively) by one act of a government. I simply don't invest in Canada any more.
I don't kid myself - we are losing freedoms - and it really sneaky how they are lost. It's not Bush tapping my phone or putting bugs in my house or reading my email. No, it's liberals carbon taxing my property, it's the government deciding where we are allowed to build, to drive......
