Wednesday morning on my way to work I encountered a doe and three fauns crossing the two lane in front of me. I was going 55-60 mph and they were maybe 60-70' in front of me, right to left. I braked hard and between my slowing down and that the deer kept moving I avoided them.
Friday morning, me and the wildlife weren't so lucky. I was doing maybe 45 mph up a hill on the same two lane and a grey shape flashed to my left. I think it was a large groundhog based upon how it ran and its color. I stood on the brakes once again, and this time the animal and I were not so lucky. I heard the impact along with repeated impacts to the bottom of the car. I do feel badly for having killed the poor thing. The impact took out the radar and the front air dam, but the car can obviously be repaired while the groundhog can't be.

I know what you mean about killing something you did not mean to, on the other hand I have had so many ground hog problems this year. The thing that really bothers me is how they design a car or SUV that damages electronics by hitting something soft and short. I understand the air dam but why put radar that low.
