My neighbors have been partying loudly for 48 hours - not a question

I devoured her books when I was little.
They have endured. I believe Mrs. Blyton passed away in 1968, and yet there I was reading The Famous Five adventures to my boys in the 1990s (and may yet read them to my grandchildren).

It used to behoove me to finish a chapter with a cliffhanger ending and say "The End!"

Not to be fooled, they would reply "No, because the last chapter is always called 'All's Well That Ends Well'!"

Busted!

Can you tell me in which Stephen King story a minor character utters a very similar line expressing the same semtiment that is later repeated by the protagonist? The line appears also in other King novels and has be used by other authors.

Not offhand - I haven't read a lot of King.

Firestarter - very good! I prefer believable paranormal to horror woo woo.

Pet Semetary - scared the heck out of me.

Misery - believable, but too morbid for me.

The Green Mile - very well-written, but ultimately (for me) not worth the long read.

If you were closer and the wind is right you could decide to burn all the tires and plastic in the burn pit on their property line

Your wife has a girlfriend? 😬

If your on Facebook every other account and video short is about a woman being polyamorous.

Including a brand new form of being a solo polyamorous where you have an exclusive boyfriend but prefer to live separately.

What a stupid time to be alive.

The Navajo nation probably shares your view.
They were not all Navajo-
Ute
The Ute tribe settled around Utah's lakes, and the state is named after them. Their hunting grounds also included parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Arizona, and New Mexico.
Navajo
Also known as the Diné people, the Navajo are now part of the Diné Bikéyah, or Navajoland, which is the largest Indian reservation in the United States.
Goshute
Many Goshute people lived near the Deep Creek Mountains on the Utah-Nevada border.

Don't know why you are on this tangent. It's not like the Indians were not pushed out all along the East Coast and and the Appalachians/South.

Depends. Had a situation once where someone abandoned their vehicle in front of Mom's house. Wouldn't care except that it was partially blocking the driveway and at an angle where the back was sticking into the travel lane on the street. Called local police number and was instructed to call the county 911 number. I said that it wasn't an emergency but we wanted to get this resolved and they made us call 911. Who then directed the call back to the local police to handle. Go figure.
We’ve called the city. Usually it takes a few day before someone comes out. Put a note on the vehicle. Come back out mark the tire. Then if still hasn’t moved it gets towed.

Had neighborhood where a house was celebrating for days like vava's. We'd go, tell them to respect the neighbors and keep the partying/music down. They would. Right until we had left, then start back up again. Before we were to go back and cite them with a noise ordinance violation, a nearby neighbor called and said they had stopped and all the cars took off. Said someone had driven a white passenger van with a green stripe on it by the house a few times and problem solved.

Other than that-have a nice rest of your day.

"You don't always get what you want".

-Stones.

One of the greatest R&R songs ever.
IIRC, the lyric is "You can't always get what you want".
And yeah, Pablo, I got the reference but I did wonder why you didn't just stick with the original 50 amp fuse, still a very healthy current draw.

Much of SK's writings aren't horror, or at least not outright horror. I was referring to Anders, the train depot keeper living at the border to the Wastelands in The Talisman. Anders tells the protagonist, "All will be well, and all manner of things will be well."

Not just one. Several. You mean you don't refer to your male friends as boyfriends? :ROFLMAO:

I don't know why women refer to their same-gendered friends as girlfriends. I really don't. Maybe it's because guys get suspicious when their woman says, "I'll go see my friend." Friend, what friend, who is he? Since I haven't figured women truly out, I cannot elucidate on the matter.

Please forgive me. I have a question. Not related to the topic at hand.

Perhaps I missed it, but what breed of dog is Cuddles? I also have a Cuddles, but from what you have shared, I suspect your Cuddles is much larger than my Yorkie.

Perhaps.

But the experiences that @vavavroom is having with his neighbors, sounds like it could happen anywhere.
In most scenarios, the noise will be a lot closer! When I drove past the place to have a look, there were at least a dozen cars parked outside and there were probably more on the property. A catering truck was in the driveway. It's a large house. six bedrooms, I think. Local bigwig owns it.

He's a 250-lbs Causacian Shepard. They were bread to defend the flock against wolves and bears. They can do this on their own for weeks without human guidance. They form a strong bond only with their owner, who is part of the flock. A Caucasian Shepherd is always on guard. They wake up at the slightest disturbance. I'm not the original owner. Cuddles was my grandpa's dog and I got him along with the house. Cuddles tolerates me most of the time. He knows I'm not Grandpa.

They might be far off, but I suspect that an old hundred watts per channel Pioneer driving some big speakers could still give them solid vibes from "Suffragette City", "Helter Skelter" and maybe "Back in the USSR".
Those would absolutely feature on my loud and proud playlist.
