hahahaah - So it's RPM (revolution per minute) singular for 1 and above 1 is RPM (evolutions per minute) plural. Like deer and fish.

I agree the redline indicates how many RPM is too many. Lots of modern short stroke/large bore "oversquare" engines that love to rev and can't put out much power below 4k. But also if you are approaching that redline area daily, it's probably not good for longevity
