Royal Wedding - now watching

Blows me away that people pay attention to the 'Royal Wedding"

Why? Because they are some self made supreme leaders who lived off the money they stole from hard working people, that goes back for endless generations?

I just dont get it, never will. What makes people so attracted to super rich people that society treats them like a god?
Answer = I wont say but not much different then sheep or cattle in a field. My dog is more independent then many people )

Getting ready to leave for a week at Myrtle Beach. I recorded it for the wife and she'll watch it when we return. She loves this stuff. Something about Princes and Princesses, fairy tales, American commoners and British Royals. I'm sure Wallace Simpson would be proud of Meg! YadaYadaYada.

Been a bit too busy for BITOG recently but I took a break to watch it (albeit in dribs & drabs).

I actually thought it was okay. I rather like the modern royals. Harry in particular seems to have his head screwed on and seems able to relate to 'normal' people. The stuff he did with Barack Obama on Invictus was exemplary. At a time when the country seems to be hellbent on dividing itself, it was nice to see something that went out of its way to be 'inclusive'; very young & very old, black & white, Christian & Muslim, etc. Oh, and the sun shone which must be a good sign!

I know most outsiders don't 'get' the monarchy but just because it isn't logical, it doesn't mean it doesn't have a purpose. Most Brits grow to realise its deep significance as a rallying point for the nation. Remember no one forced all those people in the crowd to turn up and cheer. That must tell you something.

The Romans had their circus to keep the people focused on anything except that which actually mattered.

Hundreds of thousands of biddies discussing the frock, and buying wedding commemorative plates won't be paying attention either.

I did the "What wedding?" thing a few times, genuinely the first time, after that just as commie propaganda.

I'm a great disappointment to them.

The checker at my local Walmart, or, the the guy who picks up my trash twice a week is FAR more important to me than any of this mind numbing irrelevency the media is fawning over on TV right now. If I never hear the words "Megan Markel" again in my life it will be too soon.

I wish these people NO HARM but I wish they would just GO AWAY!
