Replacing head gasket as part of preventative maintenance?

15 years old, 108k miles.

Mine is 18 yrs and 183 k. Our shop truck is a 1996 with 448 k and still has the original head gasket

If its not a Subaru open deck block or very few others then I say let it ride.

Back in the day it was common to re-torque the head bolts if the valve cover was off and it was over 5 years old. Not so sure nowadays. I'm inclined to say... if it ain't broke then don't fix it. If you are bored, find something else to mess with. Leave the head gasket alone.
