I have 2015 jku it has mopar lifetime warranty. 2024 they replace engine and transmission which also has 3 year warranty. On April 6 I had a head gasket blow due to radiator fan failure. Dealership said it was just head gasket and nothing warped. When finishing they stripped 2 block bolts. So they had to remove everything and they claim they milled the threads while everything was still in engine bay and called it fixed. I pick up vehicle and within minutes I notice a noise like a turbo or air when I excellerate.. I get home since shop was closed and wake up next morning and there's oil leaking under the jeep. I call them and they say it's nothing. I go to doctors appointment and smell burning coolant and open hood and see there's no coolant in reservoir again which is Exactly what happened when the head gasket blew. I getthe vehicle to dealership and initially say there gonna have to replace engine. They call after 1 hr saying it was an air bubble in system amd it just needed coolant. Can an air bubble be the entire coolant resivour? Doesn't seem possible. They didn't do a block check or check for warpage ? The jeep drove 50 miles with no coolant in resivour there has to be damage right ? Is the dealership covering up the fact there tech damaged the block by stripping the bolts and there repair is causing leaking oil ? Air sound ? And caused another head gasket failure? I just don't know enough to prove this but maybe yall can help. Thanks

Wow! This sounds like an AutoZone lifetime warranty -- what good is it if they just exchange garbage for different garbage?

It's unfortunate good help is hard to find.

I'm convinced some techs never test drive after a repair. They just back it out and park it.

I agree a leakdown test might be a good idea. You could also look for combustion gases in the expansion tank but false negatives are always possible.

I actually don't know: does the 3.6 in the Wranglers get "burp ports" like the 3.2 in the KL Cherokee? The latter has one at the t-stat elbow and top of the rad.

I suppose an air bubble is possible but one that equates to the volume of the expansion tank is a stretch.

Keep track of everything that has happened.

They stripped 2 block bolts and milled the threads? What's that about? Head bolts or other bolts in block? Milling normally is done on a milling machine and the engine would need to be removed and put on the milling machine. Stripped bolts normally means drill and tap for larger bolt or heli-coil. They should be using torque wrenches on bolts to tighten, not blast with pneumatic impact wrench.

Mopar's long block program isn't much better than the rustoleum looking Autozone reman engines. Combine this with terrible labor times under Maxcare and the end result is ummm....unsatisfactory.

Mopar’s “Long block” for a 3.6 Wrangler.

It overheated, and instead of stopping like a reasonable person he kept driving until the intake manifold melted 😬

I feel that way about any remanufactured engine/transmission...Ford, Chrysler, GM etc doesn't reman anything, Just the cheapest bidder for the contract.

Time for a rebuild by Dave's Auto in Utah. Watching the YT videos you get the feeling they really know what they are doing in engine rebuilding. And charge for it.
They only rebuild motors. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

You need to check out ALL the reviews on that guy and outfit, not good. What ever happened to the tv show?

I think his idea of a longblock is interesting. From Ford they come with the covers he says aren't part of a longblock. You just swap over the manifolds, flywheel/flexplate, and FEAD.
