QSFS vs Magnatec.

Does the SP formulation of magnatec still make for a quiet oil? Also is the new QS FS HM in SP regarded as quiet of a oil as QSUD?

Would magnatec in a 30wt be quieter then a magnatec 20wt for upper valvetrain noise?

Quaker State, always had great performance and extreme engine smoothness with every grade and flavor.

The two times I used Castrol (Edge, so basically the better version of magnatec) it just did not retain cold start flow and caused some valve train noise on startup at the around 2800 mile mark, both times it drained out very thick and tar-like, it was like it lost it's 0W winter rating. Never had any issue with any other oil like that.

Neither. The best frankenbrew that's been working well in multiple cars is Valvoline Advanced with Magnatec used as the top off, more explicitly 1/2 qt maggie in with the valvoline.
Maggie doesn't do it alone and neither does the Valvo. They must be together.
I have read a couple other on here have tried and are running this brew,

I havent ried the new formulation, but if it sanything like the past I would prefer the QS over the Magnatec.
But with the GTL, IDK ...
*Now we have the new Valvoline "Extended Protection" synthetic oil . It does not claim to be a longer drain oil - just has more detergents and a boat load of Moly included . I would still add the 1/2 of Mag though .

What vehicle?

Which did you find quieter magnatec or QS? We’re they both in a 30wt? Was magnatec SP?
Both seemed to perform the exact same on smoothness and quietness. The Magnatec seemed to have a little more "snap" and engine responsiveness per se. It's easy imo to tell differences in responsiveness in a 4 cyl engine. Both were SP 5W-30.

“Thick and tar-like” coulda been used oil some clown returned to store. Used EDGE 0w40 and never any issues 🤔🤔🤔

Come on now Aquarius can; you are a Castrol Syntec/EDGE guy. Can’t fool me🤣🤣

Was that Edge 0W-40?

I'll agree there. QS always stays consistently smooth and quiet, never gets "noisy".
