EXCELLENT vehicle. My wife has a 2014 Fully loaded 4x4 Overland - 128k miles no isssues....Everthing still works (even air suspension and long range radar etc) and it is still as smooth and quiet as day 1. The only repairs I made were a L/S motor mount, the oil cooler on top the motor (common issue with all 3.6L) and a thermostat. Brakes didn't need done until 85k, did tune up at 102k and new battery sometime in 2019. I follow the oil life monitor and use 5W/30 Mobil 1 HM with Wix filters. You will love it.
Were you having issues with the battery? My father's 2013 has it's original battery at 160k miles.

Beautiful Jeep, congrats!

You have one of the best V6s on the market with the best transmission in the industry behind it. Jeep really did a nice job on the WK2, I think it's the best real SUV on the market. Love the UConnect system as well, it's the most customizable yet easiest to use system I've come across.

Thanks everyone!

I know most will make fun but, I looked it up and will use the torque wrench on the oil filter cap lol. Pretty easy to over tighten 18 ft. lbs. I looked up the battery replacement and man that is a weird spot but I guess there have been more difficult batteries to replace. It has a small battery right next to it for the start/stop system too. So that'll be a little expensive when the time comes. Only thing I can say off the rip I don't care for is the s/s system, but it has a button to turn it off.

She called today to complain that it doesn't have a little change cubby on the center console, lol first world problem I guess

I was also informed that I needed to order the all weather floor mats since my 4 year old spilled his orange juice on the drive this morning, lol along with the rubber cargo liner. Well ok then.

There is a 20 year difference between these platforms, and Consumer Reports is only good for bathroom reading material.
You may not agree with CR options or test methodology, but the frequency of repair information comes from annual questionnaires to their members reporting on their own experience. So I would consider it factual.

Yes my Jeep was a 2001 and had the 4.0 engine know for cracked piston skirts. But I believe their reliability has gone down from when they were own by Mercedes Benz to now being owned by Fiat.

Nice looking vehicle. People love their Jeeps. But Consumer Reports does not rate the reliability very good on Jeeps. But that has been an issue for years. I replaced the engine in my Jeep Grand Cherokee (2001) at 96K.

Every car I've ever owned was rated poorly by CR. But they all did well for me. I don't pay much attention to that biased rag and still hold a grudge on them for framing the Suzuki Samurai. Any self respecting bird would refuse to even have it line the bottom of his cage.

The current GC (WK2) is a pretty old platform at this time and is very well sorted. I expect there will be some teething pains when it goes to the new Fiat platform for 2022.

Every car I've owned has done exactly what CR said it would. This includes my 2010 JGC.

I wouldn’t have gotten it but that’s just me. Ever since Chrysler was taken over by Fiat I have become less of a fan. My neighbor has one of these it’s a 2015 model they plan to get rid of it soon because they don’t like it and their grandkids complain it’s uncomfortable. The last Jeep I drove as a rental was severely underpowered and my personal ownership experience of a Jeep has not been positive. But if it’s what you are looking for and wanted that’s totally fine I hope you have better luck. I agree with what Donald said above it’s not highly ranked by them or any mechanic I know.

Nice Jeep! I almost purchased one with V8 in the past to double as a tow vehicle and commuter vehicle. I ended up getting separate vehicles instead.

I don't know how to feel about new model generations. Part of me wants to stick with the tried and true version that's got the bugs worked out, but the other part of me wants the fancy new version with more features etc.

I probably could have gotten a 14' Genesis with the same engine for a lot less but I bought a 15' (new generation) for the good looks and features.
