PUP's fall from grace over the last 10 years?

It doesn't matter to the oil manufacturers either that we argue. The vast majority of the population has bigger worries than what type of oil it's in their engine. Most people couldn't tell you what they run.
By that definition it should be a pure commodity and the only one that should sell, ever, would be the lowest priced one?

FWIW I like what's cheapest, but I do like to run the same thing consistently.

I walked through the automotive section of my local Walmart a month or so ago and didn't see it either but it seems like it is readily available on their website with free shipping.
Yes readily available online, but a lot of people prefer to stick with an oil they can grab off the shelf without planning. Especially those that are meticulous about going an exact oci and never going over.
Just a slight inconvenience but enough to put off some people.
I’ve always had good luck with it when I’ve used it in family cars.but I personally prefer a euro 0w30 and they don’t offer one anymore that is readily available.

Does Pennzoil have a product similar to Valvoline Restore & Protect? That stuff is amazing.
It is but it’s amazing at cleaning. Diesel is as well. So is BGR products. All men can’t be all things. It’s not about if it’s good at cleaning. I have a 227k pickup that after putting a scope in it looks as clean as it came off the line. An oil focusing on cleaning isn’t needed in my truck. Pennzoil and QS are shell products with LOADS of approvals, even used by Ferrari, so not as good at cleaning but but better at protection and since I don’t have anything dirty thats what’s best for me.

The Wal-Mart near me used to have Pennzoil Euro L all the time and at a very good price. Once I warmed up more to the idea of using it more often, they stopped carrying it.
They do carry M1 ESP 0W-30 now. Let's see how long will that last.

You need to have a good volume to occupy the shelves no matter how good you are. Otherwise, they'll move you to their website.

PUP took off because of the natural gas hype and Project Farm oil races. All that’s worn off now. I did try it back in 2012 in a Subaru and the oil consumption went through the roof. Nothing scientific but never tried it again, I’m sure it’s fine.

Where do you see this amazing cleaning?

Meh. I thought maybe you had a reason for saying it.
Let me ask you. You seem to be one of the biggest haters here for just about anything. So what would it take for you to believe anything? Real world examples and testimonials with video evidence, statements from Valvoline on its uniqueness, and multiple different engineers that design oils for a living saying it. You - guy on the internet with zero credentials, no first hand experience, nothing but a keyboard and your emotions. What does it take? You don’t want to believe data from labs even. You’re right I didn’t have a reason I made my statement because it’s true, trying to spoon feed you isnt part of it. The info is out there. Use your little fingers and go find it yourself.
