Are PUP, M1 EP, Castrol EP Gold still the superstars they were years ago?

I should have been more clear in stating “superstar oils available at Walmart” indicating they punch above their class in the $30 and under 5qt jug.

I think pup is like $35 a jug from sams club now.
They may have fell off the shelf due to price, slower sales ect.

The ESP flavors have MB approvals. I would say the ESP line is a true, approved extended drain. The others claim 25k miles but ultimately say follow your manufacturers OLM which normally only required API or dexos.

Seems like a great product, but I don't really have an app where I believe it would benefit me right now.

I have a few gallons of the castrol gold 0w20 for my K20C1. Doesn't require it, and I only go 4k between changes, but it's nice to have an approval.

For what it’s worth - Pennzoil , Quaker State and Mobil always had the best 5qrt. jug pricing at WM . Conversely , Valvoline and Castrol had the higher jug pricing at WM . Now with Mobil’s WM price increases (D1 Gen 3 oils ) the waters are a bit more muddied .
