Gonna take a break from chasing turkeys and change the oil in dads truck at the end of the week. He has a commuter car so his truck is relegated to weekend/hunting/fishing use and he's approaching 12 months and just under 4k miles since his last oil change so figured I would help him out before him and mom go on vacation in early May.

Managed to get a decent deal on the following.

Oil - Castrol Magnatec C3 5w-30
Filter - Mahle
Fuel System Cleaner - Wynns Xtreme Petrol System Clean
+ Sump plug & new washer.

All for £48. I would have used Redline SI-1 but most places seem to have stopped stocking / run out of it here in the UK. This stuff has 10-25% PEA according to the MSDS so it'll do something I suppose. Either way all in it was cheap anyway so all good. 🙂

Three qts of Mobil1 Truck and SUV, red Carquest oil filter, blue Carquest oil filter on my way home from a job. That’s it for my area as far as I can tell for M1 Truck and SUV. I have way too many oil filters now but atleast the Edge and the LS swap pan on my 82 C15 use the same filters.

This is the first time I've used synthetic oil in my Brazilian 1970 VW Beetle, 1300 engine. I chose 15W40 SN synthetic.

I've had this car since 2008 and since the first oil change I've always used the same oil, Lubrax 15W40 SL mineral. However, this oil has been discontinued and other dino oils from other brands are only in 20W50 grade, API SL.

I preferred to keep the viscosity grade and the brand rather than continue with mineral oil. I hope the engine doesn't start leaking 😬

The engine has 120,000 km (approx. 75k miles) since the overhaul, done in January 2013.

M1-103A for the 2023 Prius. Made in Vietnam. The construction looks to be far better than any Fram. The center tube has round holes as opposed to louvers. Let me know if I've missed anything in terms of filter discussions.

The 2023 Prius is sitting at 51.2K miles or 4K miles more than when we bought it. The oil looked absolutely pristine at that time and the dealer said that they had changed it but did not specify the mileage. This filter and 0w-16 HPL Premium Plus are going in soon. There are no plans for a UOA as I have no idea of what oil is in there or the actual mileage. Perhaps I will pull a sample at 10K but that won't be until next March at the current rate of accumulation.

These are no longer made by M+H! The new Mobil 1 filters look great. Here’s my c&p.

2x 1L bottles of Motul to go into transfer case and Valvoline synth 75w-90 to go into front and rear diffs on Tacoma 2021 this Saturday, son in law's truck. Did oil change and PS fluid last Sunday. Truck is somewhat neglected, he was quite a bit overdue with oil change and burning a bit, so VRP 5w-30 went in. Front rotors looked like pads don't make full contact, so will do rotors and pads end of month after vacation.
