Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

Bought a good ol FL-500S at work today. The past few months I’ve been driving myself crazy between deciding on an oil filter and what brand/viscosity oil I’m going to run. Finally just decided on the OEM filter and running the OE specified 5w-30 in a full synthetic (Valvoline or Mobil 1). I’ve spent way more time on this site than I’d like to admit lol. Time to stop overthinking oil and focus on the more important things in life. Think my oil obsession is over, or at least putting so much time towards it in search of “the best”. It’s a never ending rabbit hole 😵‍💫.

A friend would like to know what did that filter cost you at work?

Just bought 8 bottles of Redline SI-1 but will be returning 4 of them. Ordered 4 from Amazon and 4 from Advanced Auto. Advanced Auto with their discount and free shipping was still $13 more than Amazon hence the return when they come in.

Also ordered a 6 pack of Gumout 510023 Regane High Mileage Fuel System Cleaner, 6 oz. I use this in my wife's CR-V while I will use the Redline in the Subarus. Ran out of Amsoil PI and didn't feel like dropping $147 on a 12 pack with preferred pricing. I will get some but just not now.

I only buy OEM filters because they are pretty cheap and I can buy them in bulk.

I ordered a set of 10 from Amazon which were supposed to come with crush washers. When I asked the seller If they could send the washers they just asked for me return all 10 filters (or something). So eventually I went through Amazon customer service and they just sent out ANOTHER 10 oil filters free of charge — and again no crush washers.

But at this point I got 10 free filters so I didn't mind buying some cheap washers

Those champion labs made filters are JUNK !! I would recommend a Fram XG if you plan to keep it for a long period :)

interestingly I've seen several "tests" between the OEM AC Delco and others and the newest AC Delco filters do just fine...the vehicle it's going on has had OEM AC Delco filters and oil since it was new in 2005...but I always appreciate and consider others who have experience with products I am using or considering

For my Uncles 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman 3.6 V6. Only 12,000 on truck. He only will use Mobil 1 products. He wanted the black label 0W-20 but i could not find it and on the website it doesn’t list it as an option for the black label one so this one will do. Had to go to two different Walmart’s because I went to grab the single quart at the other Walmart and some dude walked over and grabbed it just as I was going too. Luckily I got the 5 quart jug there though because they didn’t have any of the 5 quart ones at the other Walmart I went too. He told me get whatever filter as long as it was name brand. They were out of the Mobil 1 and Fram filters so I got the Mopar one. They wanted $12 a quart for this at my work with the discount. We have to get oil from Auto Zone now due to our 0W-8 contract with them so that’s why it would of been so much I told them keep it I’ll go to Walmart and get it cheaper.
