2021 Grand Cherokee 4x4 3.6 w/ 86k

Out - Valvoline EP 0w20 & EcoGard Syn. 5k OCI
In - Amsoil SS 0w30 & EcoGard Syn

Definitely sounds quieter withe the 30 weight. Not sure if I want to stick with the 5k OCI’s or bump it up a little with the Amsoil.

Also got a new serpentine belt and air filter before the vacation trip.

OLM 38%

I’m going on a 1500 trip almost all high speed and didn’t want the OLM going below 20%. And I was going to change the oil again in late Nov or Dec so it a little early.

2008 CRV. Almost 247K on the car, 4511 on the OCI. Early but nice and sunny, no wind, I'm off from work. Her next trip home would probably put it at closer to 6k which still wouldn't be an issue but need something to use up my free time. No makeup oil added.

Out - 1qt HPL PCMO 5W-30, 3.5 qts Delo 5W-40 and a Honda Filtech 15400-PLM-A01.
In - 1qt HPL PCMO 5W-30, 3.5 qts Delo 5W-40 and another Honda Filtech 15400-PLM-A01 from @researcher 😁 only 1 more of those left in my supply now.

2025 Ford F150 Powerboost (Hybrid)

4597 Miles on the Change. OLM reported 33% oil life remaining. If that seems low, it is because those 4500 miles were at an average of 9.8 MPG (Hand Calculated, the Ford lie-o-meter reported about 10MPG.

2013 Suzuki SX4 Sportback, 98026 miles.
Out: Castrol Extended Performance 5W-30 and Bosch Premium 3325 filter. Note: Was not too happy with the Bosch filter. Saw a couple of loose strings of glue type material on the upstream side on the base plate upon removal.

In: The same. Done with the Bosch premium filters for now.

2011 Toyota Tacoma Sr5 w/ 4.0 V6 I just bought. 127k miles.

Used car lot, they said they change the oil on everything before selling. Bought at 127k miles. Changed at 130k because that's what the sticker said. Maybe they changed the oil? Probably not. Had a valvoline oil filter on it that was insanely tight! Just moved to a different state and didn't have a claw type oil filter wrench ready. Filter o ring was also dry!

Drained hot, & used wheel ramps.

Kirkland 5w30 fully Synthetic
Toyota OEM oil filter

Project farm did testing, Kirkland oil was great. Same as Mobil 1 if I recall especially If you change it every 5000 miles/ lower interval. I do plan to change it every 5k miles. It's a PAO 3 oil if I remember correctly. Will have to check!

2000 Toyota Camry 270k miles w/ 1mzfe 3.0 Liter v6. Very sturdy car built to last without issues that cause breakdown, engines are very robust! However... with that said!

Saw particals on dipstick for engine oil. Googled and googled, car had been driven on short runs several times. Tiny red flakes. Possible to be moisture or something? Just my luck it was metal shavings from one of the bearings. Yikes.

Changed the oil. Sold my parts car with a 198k mile engine upon the out of state move. Car will be an extra! Still runs great. Cheap insurance when things go wrong.

Wood panels in the engine bay? What’s going on here?

I'm not disputing that Kirkland will be totally fine in your usage, but there's no way it contains PAO. PAO is expensive to where even Mobil now purchases GTL from Shell cheaper than they can produce PAO themselves, for use in products like Mobil 1 EP. Kirkland/Supertech made to meet the lowest price-point possible for the high-pressure buyers of Walmart definitely does not contain PAO.

Let me do research. My wording is incorrect I imagine so I apologize. Did a lot of research to try to understand differences between conventional and synthetic. The grading of oil I'm looking for is why people say an oil like the regular 0w20 Mobil one is not "actually" a full synthetic. Let me get back to you with the correct name.

I'm a noob around here. Don't waste too much time trying to find the correct verbiage, as what some find acceptable, others will find reprehensible.

Unless you have a FTIR spectrograph of a specific oil from a properly calibrated instrument, can read it at a doctorate level (not that it automatically makes you an expert), and have formulations to compare it to, just know that what @cheesepuff2 said seems reasonable under these circumstances. His biggest takeaway being "I'm not disputing that Kirkland will be totally fine in your usage..."
