Honda recommends changing the coolant every two years or 38,600 km in its Winter Storage Guide, so I went ahead and did that this weekend.

I drained the old coolant from the radiator, engine block, and reserve tank, then flushed 3 times with distilled water to ensure the two coolants wouldn’t get the opportunity to socialize. Hilariously, the volume of the old coolant combined with the 3 flushes only halfway-filled a 1-gallon waste container. The joys of a 157cc engine!

Ok, first order of business after buying used Sequoia, changing coolant:
1. I first opened screw in the right side of engine block. Some 1 1/2 gallons got out:

Than opened radiator petcock. Some gallon got out:

Than left side. Very little got out, maybe half a quart. This is photo of drain pipe after I tightened it:

Then filling:

I would say 2 1/2 gallons in total right now. Drove some 16-17 miles. All ok. Will see tomorrow if I need to add after it cools off.

But with spill-free funnel on a 2021 Tundra. Others posted that unscrewing the pass. side block plug and rad plug gets most of the coolant out. Got ~11qts out that way.

2008 Toyota Tundra 5.7L (161K)

One year of service drained through the petcock. Used this last year also. Used the spill free funnel and worked like a charm.

no pics (sorry), but I had some sort of mixture of OEM honda blue coolant and Amsoil Low toxicity stuff in my 2014 odyssey. I was initially thinking it was good (and it may have been), but given some of @Pablo other comments about flushing other stuff out I thought it'd be better practice to do just that. Total capacity was listed at 7.7 qts. So I got a few radiator drain and fills using distilled water and the blue/green looking stuff coming out looked more and more like dilute low toxicity coolant from Amsoil (lighter yellow). I eventually got it hot enough to run the engine at temp while filling my lisle funnel with water while the radiator petcock was draining. The stuff finally ran almost like colorless water. Good enough for me! I refilled the radiator and overflow bottle with straight coolant to allow for the approx 50:50 ratio you want for coolant and good water. Thanks for all the consistent help to this forum, I think my equipment will last as long as it's going to!

Had the timing belt and water pump changed out in the 1998 CRV. The old coolant of course leaked out. Used Prestone All Makes Long Life Coolant. I know it has some 2EHA (all Prestone coolants now have it) but been using it in this CRV for 18 years now and is none the worse for it.
