Post a photo of your oil on dipstick (with miles)

Yep. And you could check the level hot instead of removing a plug and filling the atf until it runs out onto the driveway.
I'll add that to stop/start "technology" and burnt out headlights that take all ( ) day and a case of beer to change..
Yeah … I like the guys under the vehicle with a laptop 😷 … just did the Zeus juice in the Jeep - and if my dash readout for trans temps was not good enough - well I am sorry about that …

Short tripping is a oil killer.

My short tripped Ford looks like that at about 2k miles with Castrol Edge. Changed to QS FS looks more "normal"
I change early spring and late fall. Due for a change now. 10W30 QS going in for the warmer months. Good stuff.

Looks like an E-bike is in order for both of us! Or walking. What a concept!

2200 miles into my oci I had to add about 3/4 of a quart of oil to my CRV. I’ll run it to 5000 miles or when olm gets to 50%. Oil is Pennzoil platinum 0w20 for those that couldn’t identify it 😂. The crv oil is always pretty light in color fwiw.

Here is a "Paper towel blot test" of the HPL oil. Probably about 500 miles on it now. Nice 80 degree days here too, so less humidity and moisture concerns...

May be hard to see, but it has permeated the paper towel so well it can be seen through. This oil is pretty darn good. Engine is pretty darn quiet too and is known to otherwise be noisy/sound like a tractor on startup. May have to make a testimonial for @High Performance Lubricants . See you in May, all!

The Ford, this month will determine once and for all if an injector is leaking or not. If they are, if that oil level INCREASES at all, warm weather will be the test.. I'm buying from @Trav

I commend you for having not dumped the FF. Most guys here would have pulled the trigger a while ago. I believe it's good to leave the FF in there for at least 5k miles. Looks like you're down about 1/2 quart but I would keep going till the add line, but that's just me. Cheers

I took some of the HPL on the dipstick this morning after adjusting and checking the level. (We had the oil pan off yesterday and got some REALLY good shots of what it is doing. WAS overfull after that; not anymore.. this is a first thing in the morning cold check.) But this thread is about the photo of the oil on the dipstick. Here is that.

It is barely past the top hole.. this is acceptable. 3 shots because getting that color can be difficult. About 750 miles on it, still - as much of the old oil possible, in this case the HPL 5W-30 NO VII PCMO, was used. So that's about 3.5 quarts HPL, the other quart used for level adjustment is half Amazon Basics 0W-40 and half Quaker State whatever their cheapest one is 5W-20 mixed.

It only look down half a quart in the photo. It's actually much closer to full mark in person and hasn't changed so far. I'm thinking I will just follow Mazda's Oil Life Monitor.
