Post a great line from a song, the song's name, and the recording artist

Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son?
And what did you see, my darling young one?
I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it
I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it
I saw a black branch with blood that kept dripping
I saw a room full of men with their hammers a-bleeding
I saw a white ladder all covered with water
I saw ten-thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken
I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children

[Chorus]
And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, and it’s a hard
It’s a hard rain’s a-going to fall

I own that album by him. Bob D. I also liked his ex back up players a lot. The guys from Canada who turned into the group known simply as "The Band," If you posted this you must have heard or seen The Last Waltz with special guest Bob and many others.

Def Leppard, "It Don't Matter"

It's way past midnight and you travel through the city
You wonder what you should do
Well baby can't you see that you've had enough of me
And I've certainly had enough of you

Spend my days with a woman unkind
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine
Made up my mind, make a new start
Goin' to California with an achin' in my heart
Someone told me there's a girl out there
With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair
Took my chances on a big jet-plane
Never let 'em tell ya that they're aw-ooh-all the same
Hoh, the sea was red and the sky was grey
I wonder how tomorrow could ever follow today-hee
Mountains and the canyons start to tremble and shake
The children of the sun begin to awake
Now
Watch out
It seems that the wrath of the gods got a punch on the nose
And it's startin' to flow, I think I might be sinkin'
Throw me a line, if I reach it in time
Meet you up there where the path runs straight and high
Find a queen without a king
They say she plays guitar and cries and sings, la-la-la-la
Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn
Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born
Standin' on a hill in the mountain of dreams
Tellin' myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems

Going to California, Led Zep
I hear they liked it here...

Jeff--The Dave Rawlings Machine did a good cover of that song, with John Paul Jones.

And speaking of Rawlings Machine, this verse from "Short Haired Woman Blues" finally jumped out at me after several years. (Their song is not the same as the Lightnin' Hopkins song with the same title.)

We came upon a boomer's shack, she broke the windows just because.
And there along the railroad track she laid me down, that's how she was.
With the first rush of the freight train there was rain on the high summer corn.
Oh it's just a game she told me; I said no, I am reborn.
