Possibly counterfeit a01 filter

What's wrong with Fram? Honda trusts them to go not one, but TWO FULL OCI's on one filter. And Honda uses the MM, which can suggest an OCI as seldom as 10k, so 2x that is 20k. Honda deems the PH7317 to be capable of 20k

For MM Hondas, I use the PH7317 and replace it every OCI, using the OCI suggested by the minder

Boy this seems like a waste.

Oh well, it's your money...

....stop complaining to us, why your poor?
I would do the same thing.

The comment about being poor makes no sense to me. Can you elaborate?

Can't figure it out? #1 So he has enough money to buy 30 filters that he claims he will use. #2 HE CAN FLIP on Ebay/Craig list easily if he does not use them. Yet, he said he will use them all.(a waste?) You claim it's a waste, as if YOU cannot afford 30 filters yourself. This is a Oil filter forum, and you criticize others for enjoying their money. He can "waste" his money all he wants.

It is not a waste if you have disposable income, you imply you do not have disposable income, or perhaps your the kind that would rather "feed the starving children" in Africa than to have AC in your home? Which is okay if that's your thing.

Got my type r not long ago, I track my cars, previously the s2000s and ctr in the near future. Usually I change oil after one or two track days, so each filter won't last long, maybe 3k-4K, 30 filters will last me 90k-120k. I have no plan to sell the ctr btw.

On Amazon, it suddenly became unavailable, maybe the seller got my return message

That's my plan, I think I can easily sell them at the original price if not more if I don't need them in the future.

People here hoard hundreds of gallons of engine oil and it's looked upon like a badge of honor here but this guy buys filters in bulk and he's questioned about it....

Where did you get that many A01 filters?

And as far as cost goes, there is one guy on eBay that is selling what appear to be genuine ones for $25 each. I have four or five left for my old Honda, maybe I should sell them instead of using them

College hills honda, they sell at $10 a piece plus shipping, expensive but not $25, and they're guaranteed genuine

The concept of having hundreds of gallons of oil is pretty silly also if you really think about it.
My comment was not intended to draw a negative light towards a guy who bought 30 oil filters while conversely bestowing a 'badge of honor' onto others with a giant oil stash.
My opinion is that both of these appear to be hoarding type actions, but I'm not sure. That's why I posted the question to OP about how large his fleet was.

I've said it befoe and I'll say it again, BITOG is a great resource for general automotive knowledge and members here have a collective of thousands of years of experience.

In addition, when it comes to oil specific topics, some here take actions to the extreme, which if fully within their right. I also think it's very reasonable to comment that some of those actions are indeed extreme and to discuss the mindset around what would motivate someone to do so.

Cheers!

This sort of thing (note that Honeywell is quite old, A02 have not been Canada made in quite some time, also no longer have "H" on top) is why folks covet the A01. There really isn't any technical data to support the superiority that is purported. Honda considers them interchangeable and they are likely designed with the same RFP in common so one should assume they share more in common performance wise than not.

Which is a really long way of saying:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with an A02

Yupp that is not a real A01

Anyone remember them Rustic Honda Filters???

I would like to see it cut open.

Honeywell sold off Fram years ago to the Rank Group out of New Zealand. Just recently, Fram was sold off again this time to Trico.

It seems to be a hot potato.
