Not at all. My 2021 Ford F150 owner's manual recommends changing at 10,000 or 1 year whichever comes first. I am following EXACTLY what Ford recommends. So you're going 2500 miles past what Ford recommends

Yeah and Ford also recommends crazy intervals on the transmission , rear diff. and other fluids . His truck his money .
Ok I'm sorry , my Ford truck is 7,500 . It's a HD so I guess there different .That's not what you said. You said he was exceeding the manufacturers recommendation. Fords recommendation is to follow the IOLM to a maximum of 10,000 mi or 12 months unless you fail to reset the IOLM or accidentally reset it.

I wouldn't bet against the iOLM making it to 10K, our Transit 250s have been going that long without resetting them (lots of highway miles, too much weight=flogging somewhat).Ok I'm sorry , my Ford truck is 7,500 . It's a HD so I guess there different .
Well, GT-1 full synthetic could handle it too. If RL has changed formulation that much, then it was a sad day when they sold out.He likely wants a certified oil in which case I don't see rebottled Kendall as an upgrade over M1 EP.

I believe only their Professional Series is rebadged Kendall:Well, GT-1 full synthetic could handle it too. If RL has changed formulation that much, then it was a sad day when they sold out.
OK fair enough. Some of us deviate right out of the gate.I wouldn't deviate from factory specs (which require a "Starburst" Oil) until after the warranty is out.
Yeah I heard Exxon was owned by the Aliens
No no no. Pricing is not an option. You must select based on something arbitrary or petty. Get with it.Which ever is on sale. It won't matter which one you choose.
If money is no object, then isn't price arbitrary and/or petty? No no no. Pricing is not an option. You must select based on something arbitrary or petty. Get with it.
Would you be kind enough to explain how M1 EP would be overkill? What, BTW, is your definition of overkill for an oil choice?M1 EP. A little overkill for the application in case the cylinder deactivation causes issues with oil life we haven't seen on older models. Especially since you lost a quart of oil capacity.
All 3 meet the spec required for my vehicle: WSS-M2C961-A1. I wouldn't risk putting them in if they didn't.I hope that list is Ford approved oils. You don't risk voiding warranty with the crap they're putting out today.
