Right now I am doing 4k PYB and 7K PP. I have only done one PP change. I am sure you all are going to beat up on me for doing such low OCI's. I just get a little nervous when I try to stretch them out. I guess I need to get an analysis done to ease my worries.
Yes. 43K is nothing for a Honda engine. Its just getting started! (I hope) Any quality SN rated oil would give the same results most likely in that engine with my low OCI's.
Reason I took the photo is my father always used Castrol GTX in his vehicles. (Which is a good oil so please don't get upset!) When he got down in his back I started swinging by and helping him with his oil changes when he needed them. My moms 2001 Malibu (3.1 liter) always had a black build up on the cap I would have to clean off. Under the valve covers I could shine a light and it would have black flakes on everything and a black oil slime around the top. The PCV valve would have slimy build up in it. This was with 3,000 OCI and a Purolator classic filter. I started changing it with Havoline 5w30 black bottle and the same filter. All of that went away. (That is when I wish I took a before and after photo). Not knocking on Castrol but for some reason it didn't agree with that car. All of his other vehicles were clean that ran GTX.
Now I have this photo I will check with you guys in about 100,000 miles and see if this holds up!
