If you can't get it from Wal-Mart for $25 for 5 quarts, 90% of bitogers won't buy it.

I would be willing to pay a competitive price to my Castrol Syntec which I can conveniently purchase at multiple local autoparts stores. I don't ever shop at Walmart and I find it ridiculous to pay shipping on a heavy item like a case of oil. That reminds me of the pets.com business model (and we all know how well that went).

Maybe SOPUS could generate some demand from the stores if they were to advertise "Ferrari" on the front of the bottle. Something that exclusive would go a long way IMO. A little TV ad might go a long way as well.

I liked the Shell Helix ad with the clear engine. I thought it was pretty cool and innovative. Again, I would buy it if the product was available.

I see TV ads with Ultra and Ferrari all the time..as well as print ads

Well then, they should mention 5w-40 is the correct weight for Ferrari so the stores will want it!

I believe they use 10W-60

They use both depending on the model, and both weights are approved by Ferrari.

Whether you see Ferrari's or not, folks will think this oil will make their car faster if it's the only approved oil in the US for Ferrari. 'Ferrari' needs to be in front of their face on the oil rack though.

With 23,000 views, I don't think Pennzoil is crying about handing out a few cases of free oil to participants in this thread.

After they set up an online order page with free shipping they're not going to give free oil to anybody anymore, and even they don't have any 5W40 in stock to sell.

The ones that got free case(s) of 5W40 are lucky dogs, the others who didn't received anything yet from Debbie should not wait for free oil coming anytime soon.

Free oil is over, if you want to try PU 5W40 then just order it online from one of several sources. The only thing that I'm waiting for is the VOA of this elusive PU 5W40 to try it in my S2000 and may be in E430.

...as I said, they gotta get the Ultra in the brick-n-mortar to win my business. There are plenty of other competitive products readily available and Pennzoil surely knows this.

Well, as much of a cynic as I am, it is true that they are out of stock, so it'd be silly not to take their work about the shipping delay.

...yeah I agree, I mean you really have nothing to lose. If you get free oil eventually, great, otherwise it is not like there are no other good 5W-40's out there already.

Also, if you go to the Amazon website it says the product usually ships in 4-6 weeks. I mean come on, they can do better than this. At $50 per case, that is also $8.33 per quart which is pretty steep compared to the competition.

2100 miles on this batch of PU 5w-40 Euro, had a great time racing the WRX at the SCCA ProSolo National Championship (I am the new National Champion in my class!) up in Lincoln, NE.

Turbo definitely spools a hair faster on the new oil versus the Shell Rotella T6 5w-40, but that may be because it is slightly thinner. My particular engine also consumes slightly more oil than the T6 as well, but we are talking a very small amount.

28.1mpg on the return trip home in the racecar, not too shabby :)

Nice, fyi, you aren't the only Suby guy who felt the car spooled slower on Rotella.

Oh yeah, if you go to add the 5W-40 Euro from Pennzoil's own website, it tells you the product is back-ordered.

This is almost humorous.
