How come the "all other multigrades" slice of the chart has only 3 oils? I can think many oils that are available in North America: 0w30, 0w40, 5w40 (a few brands), 5w50, 10w60

It's clearly not a complete analysis, I agree.

To simplify the chart visually. If all of those grades combined occupy such a small slice, think how small each of the slivers would be -- and you'd have to have a label for each one, so you'd have a ton of text and most of it would point to slivers on the chart that you could barely see.

You're right, but I think you're missing his point. He's asking why the chart shows (incorrectly) so few "other" multigrades....and listed some common viscosity grades that have not been counted and represented (even as a consolidated count) on the chart. We know there are many more than 3 "other" viscosities, so the slice of the pie is incorrect.

Oh, you're right.

Sorry.

Yeah, that does seem odd.

The counts all add up to 250, which is a nice round number. Maybe whoever made the chart only looked at the top 250 selling oils or something?

Good luck!

Well, after more than a month of delay on the part of Debbie and SOPUS it's getting close to time for another oil change. I've been told on three occasions to expect product with no follow through. It's looking like Mobil 1 is going back in the sump. At this point I'm going to start using Mobil in the other cars I maintain as well.

SOPUS,

When you promise a customer something you better follow through. You just like BP have lost my business for now.

Evidently you did not read Audi Junkie's post on the last page. Since they have lost your business and trust, when the FREE case arrives please just forward it to me.

Ok, no problem, what's your shipping address? Expect it next week.....

Sound familiar?

Seriously, if and when they follow through I'll go back to using Pennzoil. It's my favorite of the readily available motor oils. I'm irked right now, because when a company of their size makes a commitment to a loyal customer they should deliver. I've been loyal to SOPUS and have been buying Pennzoil and QS for the last few years with the exception of Mobil 1 0w40 for my Caliber SRT-4. I even used Rotella in my small engines and motorcycle!

EDIT: I just read where Audi Junkie states that they are out of stock. They must of only had a few cases to start with.

I'm sure they have plenty in stock in Houston where it is made, but the promotional oil that Debbie is sending out comes from a fulfillment center which is located in Wichita, KS. It is the place in KS that is out of stock and when their stock is replenished they will start shipping again.

At least that is my understanding.

it's interesting that one fulfillment center can't get it's own allotment of this oil. what are the odds that they could supply the demand that wm or even aap would place on them? curious what is really the snag

FWIW, I took one of my cases down to the local Autozone yesterday, and asked them if they could order any of this....they looked into their system and said no sign of it still....no way to order it.

Well, he is wrong about that, if he wants to take the time and work at it. If the store manager will give his distribution center the APC number off of the case and tell them he has a need for it, they can order it for him. It is called supply and demand.

If someone that has one of these FREE cases will post a picture of the case with the APC number showing, then all those interested can go to their favorite parts store that sells Pennzoil and they can have their distribution order it.

But why would SOPUS make them work so hard to get it? Isn't it SOPUS' responsibility to ensure the product is orderable in the first place? Why make everyone in their supply and distribution chain (including the end customer) jump through hoops? Once again, SOPUS has dropped the ball on this, and they're taking forever to pick it up. Totally unacceptable. And then they'll pull this product off the market "because it wasn't selling."

It was already posted earlier in this thread:

But FWIW, I did try giving this number to a couple of different Pennzoil distributors and none of them were able to order it.

That's why I took the case in to the counter, and they tried the code ont he box and then the code on each quart...no luck with either. I'll be happy to post a pic with the codes later tonight if it helps anyone, but I suspect the codes are not yet in the normal ordering distribution system.
