No chance! 5w20 or 5w30 is all Ford Motor, Toyota, GM etc advice on its mainstream vehicles! Excluding Ford & GMs ultra high performance sports cars.. Mustangs/Camaro/Corvette!
Yes on our '20 Ranger XLT FX4 w/excellent 2.3L TGDI uses 5w30 grade. Sorry if I miscomunnicated ! I use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30 in both our newer Ford trucks w/Gen2 TGDI engines. Motorcraft filters. Get great mpgs. Engines purrr. Had older '14 F150 XLT FX4 w/Gen1 3.5L TGDI ..racked up 187k mis..not high for Ford trucks really. Ran awesome. No issues. Sold to friend still enjoying that truck daily well over 225k mis! The turbos in Fords TGDI last long due bein water cooled & twin scroll variety Honeywell or K2. Someone correct me if wrong on turbo vendor.
OK. Last I heard was what I said. I'm more a truck guy so those oil viscosity ratings are probably truck/SUV recommended only. I don't own any Toyota products either.
