Makes sense to me addyguy and I'd do the same thing in your position. The extra boost in additives should help reduce wear.

Thats what I'm hoping!

No way to do an oil change, oil has 5k on it and is fairly dark, so anything to 'freshen it up' a bit!

So we are equivocating over adding a couple, three bucks of oil? Just go put some oil in it.

What is the oil capacity here? I wouldn't have a problem running it a quart low if it held more than 7 quarts of oil but if it only holds 4 or 5 that would be a bigger percentage of oil that is now missing from the system.

On my vehicle the oil stick has MAX & ADD which between, is the SAFE level to operate at. Ed
