Thats a good idea but I heard going back and forth between regular M1 and EP is resulting in some oil consumption problems.quote:
I'd use that Mobil 1 10w-30 EP for the summer, get a Pepboys calendar and get that Mobil 1 0w-20 for half price and run it in the winter. Then you'll have receipts to cover any warranty issues.
Really? Is that credible? Or is that in the same league as "my engines sounds better" with this GF-4 5w30 than the other GF-4 5w30?quote:

Well the HTHS between the M1 10w30 and the RL 5w20 is a wash as far as I'm concerned. If you look at viscosity the RL 5w20 is better suited for the winter months, that is, unless the M1 is better able to tolerate any water condensation issues. Flip a coin, and buy a case of the least expensive 5w20 dino you can find for warranty issues. Give it to charity.code:

Tell me about it! I said I won't be switching brands. I have about 20 something quarts and still havn't made up my mind. I'd like to use the RL in the Focus pocus for a cleaning phase. I'll run 2 treatments of RL for 8k miles or so. For my car, the M1 or Havoline.quote:
So what is that buster, 22 quarts of oil? Enough for 4 changes and you haven't decided what to use yet? Sounds like you're well on your way to a BITOGaholic oil hoarding death spiral. By next year they'll be making a movie about it called "Leaving Titusville". Maybe they can get Brad Pitt to play the starring role of a guy named buster.
I just changed my son's Acura's oil. I put in 4 quarts of Havoline 5W-30 (GF-4/SM) and a quart of RL 5W-20. He puts on 2K miles a month so I'll change in about 5K miles. I sampled this time (dealer oil) and I'll sample again the next change. I'm pretty happy with Butler.quote:

I was thinking the same exact thing, which is why I'm going with 10w-30. They usually are less volatile. The Havoline is very tempting. TBN of 8.6 vs Mobil's 13.quote:
If you daily drive is 80mph constant for 40miles, I would choose the 10w30
