OCI for sludged Altima

Do you know this? Did you pull the valve cover?

I didn't take off the valve cover, when I looked down the oil filler hole I saw nothing but black gunk.

The engine maybe not be completely lost but I think it's safe to say the it's been seriously neglected. I'll have her do short OCIs for now, hopefully it doesn't start leaking/consuming heavily.
 
My 99 Altima 2.4 went to 195k miles (before getting rearendtotaled) needing only a half-quart between 5-6k conventional 5w30 dealer OCIs...good luck there.

That's not bad, Nissan makes solid cars. It looks like the previous owner went something like 15k on the last OCI. The only good thing I saw was that there was a K&N oil filter on the car.
