Any manufacturer that you know of who publishes these results e.g. peer reviewed journal? Somebody had posted Chevron's study but that was at least two decades old and it was NOT the test as you described.

I am not trying to be wise guy here but apart from Chevron and 3M, I see no other manufacturer who might be even be conducting any of these studies let alone publish them or provide the results to us on request.

I do not think your suggestion is practical.

RP has this data on their Max-Clean, I have seen it. And AMSOIL actually has it posted right on their web site.

That's exactly my point. How can a manufacturer make claims of clean-up, keep-clean, or fuel stabilization performance if they don't even have the studies/data to prove it? If they can't provide this info, then I think that, by default, you have your answer.

How many phone calls have you made to manufacturers, requesting this data? If none or only a few, how can you even be in a position to make this statement?

What I find interesting on this site are the "complaints" that this product or that product cost too much, or that you can buy two bottles of one product for the same cost of one bottle of that product. What you're failing to realize is that, with the pricier products, you're not just paying for the product. You're paying for all the research that went into making the product.

It's the same when you pay $50 per pill for specialty pharmaceuticals. The cost to manufacture that pill is less than $1. But that's not what you're actually paying for. What you're paying for is the research that has gone into the development of that pill, which assures that it actually performs as stated. The only difference is that, in the case of pharma, the FDA regulates the research process. And this assures that the product actually performs as stated (at least in theory).

In the case of fuel additives, there's no regulatory body. And it's too bad there isn't, else probably 90%+ of the products in this category would disappear from the shelves, and we'd only be left with those that actually perform as stated. In which case, this dialogue wouldn't be taking place because each product would come with an insert that communicates its efficacy -- again, just like is the case with pharma.

Can you provide the URL for the Royal Purple published study? All I see on their website is just marketing blurb.

I saw it in the form of hard copy. If you contact them, they may be able to provide it.

DaHen;

I see you are in Mass. If you are up near the NH border you can grab it at the following speed shop...

Coastal Customs
193 Elm Street
Salisbury

$14.80 a can( includes the tax )

That is where I got the can I tried. They had a bunch on the counter so they do stock it.

Thanks NHHEMI,

Plus Salisbury Beach should be in full swing this month. Will be a great excuse to take a run up there.

I go to the Reservation all the time to hunt and fish. However, from July 4-Labor Day in Sept I avoid the area like the plague on weekends. Just crazy down there.

I'm just not sold on it. I use Max film, Max ATF and SN 5w20 RP currently. I'm not hate'n on the Purple peoples. This one just looks average

When it comes to PEA, there is a threshold, and overdosing on PEA has really no positive result.

That is correct.

But if you get more PEA per dollar, its a cheaper dose and you can use it over two tanks; like the Gumout All-In-One.
RP is just jumping on the bandwagon with nothing new and charging more for their name and/or colored dye. [IMO]

Really? Which other products offer both clean-up and fuel-stabilization performance in the same product?
