Looking to see if anybody has contacted Reldine regarding their SI-1 fuels system cleaner and using it in an older two stroke outboard.

Wanted to talk to somebody at Redline been calling for days and their tech suppose team is never available .

Seems like they dont actually have enough people to ake the calls or they do not take phone calls on that line .

Even called right when they opened in the morning and same message no technical agents are available .

Had a rich running condition and on the motor and there is carbon buildup on the pistons .

Been running Amsoil hp marine in this motor for at least 15 years .

Can use Ring free but the suggested dose would be a lot of product, using their shock treatment of 2oz ring free for 1 gallons of gas and running the treatment for 64 gallons of gas is the recommended method for the motor and they say it might take two doses .

So you have 16 gallon of gas for every quart of ring free so for 64 gallons that would be 4 quarts at $60 + for a quart of Ring free for one dose .

Its cheaper than replacing a power headhead if the carbon buildup causes that to happen but if the Redline will help clean it up some might be worth a try .

Trying to avoid to much of a piston soak if possible in case soemthing goes wrong with that method.

Was not really interested in emailing them would rather talk to a live person a 5 minute conversation would be all that is needed .

Searching on here I did not see any confirmation to my question .

i saw someone in this subforum recommend stabil 360 marine, maybe that's the more appropriate cleaner to evaulate

Since both products, Ring Free and SI-1 contain PEA as the 'active ingredient', likely at similar concentrations, I'd guess either is an appropriate choice for two strokes!

It is entirely possible the inactive ingredients may matter in other ways, such as changes in octane, but if the goal is to clean thing up, either one is good.

I have heard that mentioned but the only SDS for ring free I've seen is this.
Where is the PEA?
