Hey FZ1 you might have a point there, but his daughters help make him look a lot brighter to me!! Sorry for the off topic, but the Force daughters make me feel kind of funny...

The test actually does have some value. But I do think carrying out wear scars to three places and declaring a winner based on the test ALONE is over the top. Even Amsoil doesn't say that.

Great buster, I'm really looking forward to your UOA. I am thinking that an engine when first introduced to a new oil has to be conditioned to it. I believe that a lot more of the special ingredients are absorbed or otherwise used up. That's why I think the first change should be done sooner than normal. Please consider this when you plan a OCI interval. Once the engine is up to speed, there will be more additives available to do the job they were designed to do. What do you think
Well I have 2 vehicles running SSO,my wifes 03 3.8L Impala and my daughters 04 1.6L Aveo. Impala is a short hopper with full temp runs at least daily,the Aveo is a round town cruiser with a standard trans that gets driven on the hard side. Both are going 1 year or 17,000 miles. Imp uses a little oil so we'll see if that clears up as well. I am anxious to see the reults but they are a loooong way off.

A lot of SSO users have noticed how much smoother their engines run soon after installation. Have you noticed this as well? I had an oil burning issue with my '93 Civic that was remediated by the 0W-30 synthetic oil. It took 3 or 4 changes to get where it is now. I first went to TSO at 118,000 miles and liked the performance that it afforded me. Now with 246,000 miles, I am very pleased with the SSO and plan it's continued usage.

In general it is ,I have read much of the literature and many issues of Amsoil action . I think you are reading much too much in to the comment because the information is as I implied ,just as is adaptive molecules and antisludge formulations . Hatred for Amsoil,doubt it. It is a fine oil as many others are. Though it is not the magic elixer that many who use and sell it claim it or it seems to be. I have through out my years of being up to my elbows in gas, diesel and lpg fueled engines to take the info presented with some thought. Pablo you are so sensitive but that is why we all love you..
