I had about a gallon of Neo 0w5 oil in older bottle-think it was like SG rated. I was curious about it's ability to work in my 2004 Honda Accord-had excellent results with their 5w30...but I still have a year of payments on the Accord and wife's car is runnning well with Amsoil 0w30 nearly no oil consumption in nearly 11,000 miles. So decided to use our third car 1996 tercel with nearly 160,000 miles on it. The car itself was in some trouble consuming nearly a quart of oil every 1000 miles nearly 1.5-2years ago. I performed two treatments with auto rx with older instructions, and one complete treatment with newer instruction and introduced pennzoil platinum as the first synthetic oil used in the car during these treatments and the rinse cycle. I just ran redline 5w30 for 7 months and 6000 miles and used about a quart of makeup oil. I put the Neo 0w5 in the car last week and have put about 500 miles on it. So far the gas mileage improved slightly, but need some more time to measure that and car is accelerating as well as a 92 horsepower car can. I wondered if there is a way to check the oil pressure or if there are tangible signs I can use to determine whether the engine is doing ok besides feeling it seize up on 695. I quit gambling about one year 3 months two days and 6 hours ago, and wonder if am transferring gambling habit to this car.
