Here's my first Oil report!! what do you guys think? Had 50800km at time and oil run for 6000km

Comments :

Wear looks good and read in the proper balance in the first sample from your Canyon. Universal averages for the 3.5L are based on an oil run of ~8,300 km. This oil wasn't in use that long but it could have gone the distance. We found a trace of fuel and a slightly low viscosity. The fuel caused the low vis but neither is a problem. No other harmful contaminants were found. Your air and oil filters are working well, too, with both silicon and insolubles reading normally. At 50,800 miles we have no problems to report. Check back to establish wear trends.

not sure really... i know for sure its not syntetic. it's the oil that was in it when I bought the truck in august. I changed it to Pennzoil Platinum with a Wix filter so i should see better nubers next time

If you bought the truck from a GM dealership, and they did the change there, then you would have gotten Petro-Canada 5W-30 dino oil in there, as this is what GM dealerships in Canada mostly use. Its a good oil, and you got good results from it.

Only downside is it is not a 'long life' oil, and seems to lose its TBN early - by 5k miles, it would be spent (you're at 3750 miles). Shearing is typical of dino 5W-30's.
