My Walmart has dropped the Endurance for a new 20k Purolator

I’d assume that too considering that’s what the old M1 filter was. If it’s the same media.
Seems to me because Mobil switched filter manufacturers that M+H was like we have all of these filter parts from the media, anti drainback valves, etc from Mobil might as well use it.

And as a result you just have a fancy Gold color Purolator which is just the Mobil 1 filter.

^^^ Made a deal with Walmart to use up all the old Mobil 1 materials, and keep that filter line going. 😄

If only they would just work on the QC and efficiency on Purolator and other M+H filters I would buy it.

But WCW posted a video of a Mobil 1 filter recently and even though he said there was no tears in the anti-drainback valve on the video it was clearly visible to me there was a tear. So I personally am not taking that gamble, it is shameful this is the quality we are getting from made in USA.

I had the Pentius theory.
Bingo, that is what I'm thinking. 🤔

Well that is what I would do if I was HW or Mobil after seeing the Pentius XL filters that are basically like a Mann/Mahle build quality but with better filtration and a complimentary silicone gasket (although Mobil isn't using the gasket obviously)... 🤠

But there are MANY, MANY factories there in Korea so it's hard to tell unless we get a trade receipt that shows HW trading with Pentius themselves or one of the Pentius Korea factories which are Filter Master, Sam Won Air Tech and a couple others fwir.

^^^ My theory is that Highline Warren is the middle man between the factory (or multiple factories) and Mobil 1. HW is responsible for the warranty on the Mobil 1 oil filters now (link below), so to me that makes them the main middle man. Just like PGI is the main middle man for filters like Carquest Premiums and MicroGard Selects at O'Reilly's.

I have been in a few Wal-Mart locations across Connecticut this week and none have the new gold Purolator oil filters. I have been able to find the new M1-110 (made in Vietnam) and TG7317 is just starting to trickle in with the E-core design like the PH7317 switched to a few months ago.

None of the stores have had the Fram Endurance on clearance yet, but there are stock vacancies suggesting that they are already not restocking them when they sell out of a given part number.

I imagine WM is doing a region-by-region roll-out of the filter wall change as Purolator ships their new product out to warehouses and given warehouse locations get a complete line-up of part numbers.

The Champion/Fram part number choice is interesting; I wonder if Wal-Mart requested that. A uniform numbering system does make things easier on customers.

Does it mean that Fram Endurance will be soon discontinued? It is exclusive to Walmart only now.

I called Fram a week or two ago and they claimed wal mart was still ordering them but the person in the line didn’t seem all that knowledgeable, for instance didn’t know what a synthetic endurance filter was and needed a part number.

Already gone and replaced with Purolator 20k at my Walmart. Seems to be rolling out in different areas currently. Eventually everywhere.

Just checked mine south of KC no change to display or pricing so far. Endurance shelf stock seemed a little lighter but nothing obvious.

Still available to buy online at walmart. If Walmart drops it, will Fram discontinue it?
Probably, as the Endurance under that name was sold only at Walmart. The FRAM Titanium sold at Advance Auto seems to be the same filter but different name and so far, will continue being sold there.

it is not the same filter. the titanium is the ultra for AAP.

I thought the Titanium is still mesh wired backed on the media and the Ultra's no longer?
Titaniums have been seen without the wire backing, most likely the same media as the new Ultra, The Titaniums seen with wire backing have old date codes.

Looked at an LX7317 up close today for the first time. What I could see looked fine, much like the P1 except gold paint. Louvers well formed and ~$8.50. That's less the P1 PL4610 on Amazon unless one can catch the $2 coupon they very occasionally have. And same as CQ Premium with 15% online code. At some point, may give one a try.
