Yellow clearance tags look like $12.67. Not much of a discount yet.

I'd bet the block bypass valve is set lower than the MicroGard Select. The MicroGard Select MSL57502 is 22 PSI per O'Reilly's website.I was considering the new Mobil 1 PG made filter however in the past I ran Microgard Select and it had a bypass valve when my Chevy has the bypass valve built in to the block, and it unfortunately seems that might also be the case with the new Mobil 1 filters because Autozone lists them as having a bypass valve.
AC Delco bypass valve comes in 11psi and 21psi replacements. It takes the MSL51040, PG111EX lists 21PSI.I'd bet the block bypass valve is set lower than the MicroGard Select. The MicroGard Select MSL57502 is 22 PSI per O'Reilly's website.
If it could be verified your engine has the 11 PSI bypass, then using those filters would be fine. But I do understand the concern not knowing which engine block bypass it has. Is the 21 PSI block bypass an updated version for that engine?AC Delco bypass valve comes in 11psi and 21psi replacements. It takes the MSL51040, PG111EX lists 21PSI.
I believe it is 11psi with oil cooler and 21psi without oil cooler but I would have to verify. If it could be verified your engine has the 11 PSI bypass, then using those filters would be fine. Yes, that's been brought up a few times here. Based on other info seems the 99% @25u is correct. If you find anything out from PGI please share the info. What is also concerning is PG111EX lists 42-60 Micron rating but also lists 99% 25 Microns so something is off with their listing.
I sent them an email in regards to that as well as the bypass valve. If they reply with an answer I will post it here.Yes, that's been brought up a few times here. Based on other info seems the 99% @25u is correct. If you find anything out from PGI please share the info.
An FE cartridge for $5, 'if' similar to or same as the China made Pentastar cartridges I've looked at recently, a good deal imo. As for the spin on at that price, wouldn't entice me, but could see where some might them a buy it at that price.Local WM had like 50 FE's on clearance for $5 today. Most were cartridges though, a handful of 12060's
none that I could tell, just yellow tag to make NPCs go "oooh look its a deal!"What are the clearance prices on the FE filters?
I called the PG tech line about a month ago to get answers after months of no email responses. The website has an error. The non ex filters are 42-60. The ex filters are 15-25. This means the ex filters are 98.7@15, 99.5@20, and 99.9@25.What is also concerning is PG111EX lists 42-60 Micron rating but also lists 99% 25 Microns so something is off with their listing.
"Exceeds OE Performance" No worse than an OE filter & it can stay in for a lot longer. Obviously, they're making it cheaper than the Boss line since I'm not seeing any "SmartFusion" reinforced media being mentioned on the website & being a WM "Exclusive".
Boss is probably better how? Doubt the Boss is going to be better efficiency than the Purolator Gold unless the Gold uses screen door media. The logical explanation is, IMO, that Wal-mart demanded the supplier not offer a filter that competes with their 20k mile exclusive filter. Thus, the 20k gold purolator and the BOSS is now only 15k when it's probably the better filter (not wal-mart-ized)
I just got an email response, they say the bypass valve for my application is redundant and will not cause harm they use the same filter for non GM applications that need a bypass valve.I called the PG tech line about a month ago to get answers after months of no email responses.
