My Kreen test.

I used my first Kreen treatment in the dead of winter. I had 2.5K miles on the oil when I added 18 ounces of Kreen to the sump. I then completed a high speed RT drive to South Carolina and back. I changed out the Kreen and Oil a couple of days after I arrived back and the oil was black as soot. My engine runs quiet and smooth and I still don't have any oil consumption problems.

I found that my second treatment of Kreen was really not necessary. The oil and Kreen that was drained after a 1K mile daily normal usage came out very clean without any visible dirt, solids or waste.

IMO....One treatment is all that I really needed for my T4R. The long distance, High Speed, Highway driving in the winter did the trick and lifted and cleansed the engine. The oil filter that I removed was quite heavy after I removed the filter mag and the sediment and "Black Jello" poured out of the oil filter canister.

Here are some pictures after 1,000 miles of Kreen in the sump.
I changed the oil and filter yesterday, and will add another dose of Kreen 1,000 miles before the next OCI. To the eye there is quite a bit of cleaning going on.

Please note I'm not following their directions for the use of Kreen. Their directions state to add a pint to the gas and a pint to the oil every 1,000 miles. For badly sludged oil burners they recommend a "Complete Purge" which consists of a piston soak with Kreen, a qt added to the oil, and a pint/5 gallons of gas. Run the engine for half an hour or longer and drain the oil.

IIRC someone mentioned adding a pint of Kreen to a 5 qt sump, and top up with Kreen durning the OCI, not to exceed a qt of Kreen during the interval. BUT........YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK WITH KANO LABS FIRST!

Thanks Demarpaint. I had decided to buy Kreen before this thread, but finally got the guts to try it after this thread. The Jeep GC has varnish, the G-oil was FAR and I don't drive it much, maybe once a week. It had some... um... long...dino OCI's while I was finacially challenged. We'll see how she does. The Fram Extended Guard is the only fram besides Ultra I'd ever buy.

Good luck, let us know how it goes. I went with a Fram XG filter myself, the price was too good to pass up.

demarpaint, is the engine running better in any way? The appearance of cleanliness aside, are you noticing a benefit--smoother idle, or better gas mileage, or more giddy up, or....?

I had a slight lifter tick [my father said for years] which I'm happy to say is completely gone. The car runs like a top. The cleaning is slow and steady, the pictures are not doing Kreen any justice.

As a side note I'm very disappointed in how 3,000 conventional OCI's did in that engine. I plan on adding Kreen again about 1000 miles before the next OCI. I'm glad I use synthetic oil in my E-150 and Jeep, conventional clearly dropped the cleaning ball in this application.

LOL No worries here! I have the service history, and posted the pictures. The engine is mechanically sound, any idea what happened? One more little tidbit of info, the engine never saw a drop of synthetic oil, ever. What else can I say? LOL

No problem with the pictures. Gallon #4, wow! I'm sure if you weren't successful with the product you'd stop buying it! I have quart left, and will probably order more when I finish up with it. I'm also considering going back to my tried and true addition of MMO for the winter months,

but that won't happen until next winter if I decide to do it. I want to finish up with the Kreen, after all its doing a nice job. I'm sure if I followed their directions I'd be finished with it.

I have used Kreen in many different vehicles. It will ALWAYS be on my shelf, and should be considered for any higher mileage vehicle no matter its apparent condition.
