Kreen flash off = Varnish Redeposit?

I got fresh oil and 9% dose of Kreen on-board my Nissan as of yesterday.

If the Kreen dissolves some varnish, do you think once the solvent flashes off, the varnish will redeposit or stay in solution in the new oil?

What is your opinion? Me and my boss are currently discussing....

Any API rated oil will have additives to keep it in suspension. Now if it has enough to deal with the increased amount of insolubles that the Kreen is going to throw at it I don't know, and probably varies from oil to oil.

Having used Kreen with great success in our fleet vans I can tell you there is no downside IMO.

No redeposition, just aggressive effective cleaning! Even the PCV circuit.

Why I use a good synthetic for cleanups using Kreen vs. cheap dino. No proof suspension will be any better, just keeps that thought out of my mind.

If i were going to use kreen, i would use a diesel oil. More detergents to keep the stuff in suspension.

Yeah, I'll do that next time. I'm just gonna watch the oil and do some blotters. If I have to do an OC before the second dose, no biggie.

It will solve it but of the varnish doesn't solubilize in the oil it will be dispersed in the oil, should it solidify as the kreen burns off.

Based upon the oil smell when I dumped it with kreen in there, it will remain in the oil...

If you smelled it you had it in for a short period. Smell should be gone by 1k.

My used oil still had that Kreen 'strong household detergent/shoe polish-type' smell to it even after >2K miles, once I dumped it (if that is what you were referring to).

Yeah, I guess the amount used played a role in why it didn't stink coming out at 1k (3oz per qt 12oz total)

or..

maybe its my repeated broken noses playing sports...

The oil filter is responsible for helping the oil not to get over-loaded.

So, the key in 'avoiding re-depositing' is simply to change the filter often when using kreen. (1,000 miles as a max during first treatment, 500 if you are cautious...cut one open and inspect the element)

Use only basic oil filters during this process.
