This f450(?) Dump truck with a missing front fender drove up to my place. Turned around and left. Hit my gate on the way out.

Looks like he did try to straighten it but its too far gone for that. Broke the pipe off thats cemented in the ground too.

How a guy hits a pole that's on the side of a 12ft wide driveway with a truck thats maybe 8 ft wide is beyond me

At least the guy got out and tried to straighten things up.

At my place Fedex Ground and Amazon just run over my markers and lawn even though I have about 1,000 square feet area usually open to turn around in. I finally put up a couple of cones to deny entry into that area. They have to walk it in.

He should have found a way to contact you to make it right, but I will give him credit for getting out and trying to do something. Most people couldn’t be bothered to do that much.

That is a hit and run which is a crime, albeit not a serious one, not a civil matter. Getting any damages returned to you is civil though, the police could only cite him for the offense not damages.

Sometimes a victim can get a damage award as part of a defendants plea deal in criminal court without having to pursue it civilly.

Go to your LE agency and make file a police report. If whomever is responsible for damages wont pay up, go to small claims court.
I would do this.

1. There is un-repaired damage.
2. He didn't leave any note.
3. Is he a potential drunk driver?
4. What was he doing at your place anyway? Looking to take things? Or looking for a place to dump things?

Do that here and they just throw it on the road.
