Musk Says Tesla ‘Dug Our Own Grave’ With The Cybertruck

I'm shocked how many companies are developing or have engineered accessories for the Cybertruck as it's this late in the game still with no deliveries. It makes me wonder how bad things are actually going at Tesla. When the Cybertruck was unveiled Musk said and I quote "We're so far ahead of the competition that there's no possible way anyone will sell an all-electric truck before we do."

He acts like every game developer now, lots of promises and words but doesn't deliver. Everything gets pre-ordered, delayed, pre-maturely released, and then "fixed" later. He'd be perfect as an EA Games or Ubisoft dev.
Tesla's 3rd quarter results were pathetic, plans to put a hold on the 8sih billion dollar Mexican plant is proof and Musk in the business world notes his 3rd quarter conference call was a bunch of "whining" and excuses.
The man is a genius that doesnt mean he belongs at the helm of Tesla anymore. They dont need him.

Tesla was too busy chasing dollars from what I believe to be a temporary set of blips in demand for other products they sell. This distraction means they didn’t innovate in outward ways (new models) they did innovate around chip shortages and are removing cobalt from their batteries but the consumer doesn’t notice that.
Tesla should have noticed its competitors EV trucks have all been failures so going big into Cybertruck is a mistake.
Originally was supposed to be a $35,000 base, going 4 years on and $80000 entering a field of other overpriced underperforming offerings isn’t going to work.
Upcoming is Teslas first encounter with a recession during mass production, we shall see how that goes as consumers cut spending.
I think ( really hope) that the market and analysts, investors and so on are starting to see that shiny patina wear a little thin. I also think and hope the board of directors and other higher ups are starting to see how he's making terrible decisions i.e. the cybertruck and then he keeps changing or amending specifications during ramp up. Engineers have said the stupid yoke set them back a year in production and design across the board. Musk himself said recently and I'm surprised this hasn't raised any red flags but He put five projects on hold just to work on the Cybertruck. " 
Well, even with the recent drop in stock price, Musk is still the richest person in the world and Tesla is still, by far, the most valuable car company in the world.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. With a small production volume and its coolness enough people will buy them.
The powertrain isn't the problem obviously as they can slap commodity by now Model S/3/X/Y stuff on it. The body manufacturing precision of 10um would be. The crash safety of stainless steel so hard it has to be a flat car instead of a curved car would also be a problem. The insurance cost of a hard to repair stiff stainless steel body would also be a problem.
I honestly think they need to sell the first gen in small volume and quickly redesign a 2nd gen to address these problems or else it won't be produced for long in high volume. I would imagine owners having a hard time keeping the body flush and straight in their 10-20 years ownership and ended up hating it.

Production will be demand driven. The jury is still out on the Cybertruck. Heck, the trial hasn't even started!
There were many, including me, who wondered if the Cybertruck unveiling was another Elon prank.

A person claiming they were called by Tesla today asking to go forward with a $98,990 Tri-Motor Cybertruck. + $7,000 more for FSD.

Wouldn’t surprise me. A Model X Plaid (Tri-Motor) is $94,990. Why would a Tri-Motor, full size pickup with a (likely) much larger battery be any cheaper than a Model X?
My guess is that’s why they raised the price of the Model X Plaid just a few days ago. Less sticker shock. “It’s only $4k more than a Model X Plaid!”

The rumor above is plausible. The much delayed Cybertruck was supposed to start delivery in November but then again I understand it was delayed once again. Maybe some early production models are being released ?
Consumers cutting spending is already affecting Tesla sales. High interest rates are a big factor as is inflation eating up people's paychecks. However I don't doubt that Cybertrucks will sell as fast as they can make them anyway. There are plenty of people who have the money for a $100k truck. They are kind of like the people who bought those stupid Hummers. Very expensive, ugly, could barely fit in a garage or parking space and huge gas hogs. But people thought they were trendy and cool. And if celebrities drove them, well they MUST be cool right ? Tesla management is smart enough to not over produce them. So if they are profitable and sell as fast as they make them, why not go into production ?
One thing a lot of people overlook right now is the situation in the Mideast. What do you think gas prices are going to look like if Iran's oil production facilities are turned into smoking craters ? It's bad enough that gas in many places is over $6 a gallon. If it's over $12 a gallon and there are lines a block long to even buy it, EV's are once again going to look pretty attractive. Guess which manufacturer will be the biggest benefactor ?

Last year all positions we were hiring for (need terminal degree or Master) it is absolute exodus from TX and FL to CO. For those jobs we would usually have 80-90 applicants, now it is at least 150.Rocky Mountain Water.
There are numerous factors. In Colorado Springs just in the last year they announced 12,000 new aerospace jobs in next several years. It is actually problem how that would be filled.

Starting to hear some rumblings that it is taking longer for skilled professionals to get hired, and their pay expectations need to be lowered if they want to get hired. This is a different theme than what was discussed the past few years. I have been casually applying for jobs, and not getting responses that suggest the hiring organization(s) are desperate for applicants.
