Movies that you like, but others don't.

One of my favorite modern films is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The film rated highly for the most part, but it's not that I know people who hate it but most people near me haven't seen it...

I love the fight scene at the end when Brad Pitt smashes that woman to pieces against the wall phone and the fireplace mantle. And when Dicaprio roasts the other one with the flamethrower.

Also, when Pitt threw Mike Mo, (Bruce Lee), into the Lincoln.

One to add for me 42 The Jackie Robinson Story. Since not many people seem to like baseball I’d assume no one else likes that movie except me lol. But I’m sure there are many more too.

I really don't care for watching Tv or the movies. They are offensive. Although when dating The women would like seeing movies so I made the ultimate sacrifice and went.

Well all of T's movies are a bit too long for me. Of course like most of them, he has about 2-3 parts make it all worth watching. One was when the stunt man, B.Pitt puts Bruce Lee in his place and slams him against the car. LoL

The Bruce Lee fight was loosely based on a real scrap where a veteran stunt man was brought into reign Lee in a bit - he had a habit of punching out stuntmen full force, which is completely unnecessary for realism. The guy had been a Judo champion and threw Lee around like a ragdoll. But they later became really good friends...

In the light of these recent movie threads why not highlight some hidden gems that deserve more recognition than they get? Do you have any favorite movies (hidden gems) that are misunderstood and disliked by majority of the public? I'll start.

1) When movie "Drive" came out in 2011, I got excited about it and watched it with a group of friends. None of them enjoyed it as much as I did. Re-watched it recently and enjoyed it just as much as I did back in 2011.

2) This one is a masterpiece in my opinion (in its own unique way), special thanks to whoever picked out the music for it. "Hardcore Henry" from 2015. Out of all my friends only 1 liked it as much as I did. Rest just absolutely hated it. Still don't understand why though... It was a cool idea to see the movie through the eyes of the main character. While weird at times - it is a sci-fi action movie. So no - it's not gonna follow the laws of physics and such... But even when I re-watched it, it still kept me on the edge of the seat.

What are your personal favorites, that are not exactly as widely accepted as you think they should be?

Tropic thunder and UHF with weird Al Yankovic. Really comical and not highly rated enough.

I like the majority of baseball and boxing movies. Field of Dreams and Million Dollar Baby are amazing they wouldn’t make this list as most people DO like them though.

The movie I can watch 1000 times and most people hate is A Night at the Roxbury. I’ll laugh at that stupid movie every time.

There’s scene from Smokey and the Bandit that I that doesn’t seem to show up on You Tube. It’s when a mechanic is talking with a law enforcement officer about two specially equipped Plymouth Fury police cars still in the shop. The officer asks “ what’s the top speed ? “ The mechanic says “ unlimited”.

It believe it would have had a 440 ci 250 HP engine.

I watched the 2018 version of Fahrenheit 451 the other day. It missed the point of the book and invested too much time on trivial things like violence. The 1966 movie was a masterpiece compared to this one.

It reminded me why I have stopped watching movies - they are too shallow.
