moly for quiet ride

What kind of car are you running? Some engines prefer different packages. I find most mazda motors like valvoline, rotella, or Castrol.

Moly is very inmportant additive to motor oil
Especially if your running a flat tappet camshaft
OHC engines are a little more forgiving with less moly but still needed

The Valvoline Advanced (once aka Synpower) now does have moly. Seen recent VOAs on this board showing it does.

read its mainly for the rx8 rotory engine so its got to be mineral

No, you read again. Mazda always recommends the Mazda Moly Oil made by Idemitsu. They also recommend whatever brand that gets the contract in your region. For you in Alabama/Israel, it's Total Quartz.

That's old. In the fall of 2017 Valvoline went to a moly/titanium/boron additive package. This was for d1G2. It was discussed fully here.

Where do I find moly content on any of these brands? The Mazda oil label states "with moly". The owner's manual recommends Castrol for DIY'ers like me but my dealer said they use Total bulk per their agreement with Total. I already bought a jug of Zepro advanced moly on eBay for $28 for my next change. Amazon is screwing around with their price so I'll probably buy from Walmart next. I'll go with Castrol or Mobil 1.

I paid for my first oil change in over 30 years and they over-filled it so I decided I'll just keep on doing it myself.

So, where do I find the numbers?

in 5w30 which oil will be the quietest,Mobil 1, Mobil 1 Extended Performance, castrol magnatec a5 or the valvoline synpower?
tnx

M1 and Mobil 1 Extended Performance are about 1/3 PAO. They will probably run smoother than others. You also get the more potent trinuclear moly.

What vehicle is this? The PAO-based Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 could be the best choice. If too expensive, then half-PAO-based Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20.
