Saw that these are going on the shelves at my Wally, in 0-30 and 0-20. What's "new" about this oils? More PAO? Just curious!

Same formula, just promoting the fuel economy benefits of "0w" oils. They were the first to have a 0w20, but consumers didn't think you could use it in place of a 5w20.

great to have mobil 1 0w-20 back on the shelves, good mix for my m1 15w-50

Why mix at all, why not just run something like Mobil 1 0w-40?

How can something be both "new" AND "improved"?

From deven's post today in the Humor section https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/9-things-i-hate-about-everyone.84646/ - 'Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, it couldn't be new.

It's new marketing. The general public isn't familiar with "0w" oils. More are now, then in the past. People wouldn't use a 0w-20 M1 that met Ford specs so they made a 5w20 and took the other off the market. They are trying to push the 0w oils for slightly better fuel economy. Makes sense in today's world.

Makes a lot of sense marketing wise with gas prices the way they are. Most people are scared of 0w-20 or 0w-30 thinking they are thinner than 5w-20 and 5w-30 respectively when the truth is they are only thinner when the oil is cold but when it's at operating temp, the 0w weight oils are typically thicker.
