Just did a search on walmart.com and the ONLY Mobil 1 grade of oil that comes up is 0W-20. Doesn't matter how I would search, just all types of Mobil 1 0W-20 would show and nothing else. Only choice if you drill down with viscosity is 0W-20. Better make sure there is other stuff still on the shelves of my local Wally.

Did CAFE get in Walmart's head?

I'd say and even HOPE the answer is NO.
YET, Not the least surprised if it did...... Could even be like a few other things I have discovered the last couple years. Products and even medicines that the US government has dictated to companies the actual numbers of things they can produce and sell in a 12 month period. I guess the attitude became " if we can not stop folks from buying and using things we do not agree with , we will simply make it where they can only purchase so much by limiting the production amounts."

No, CAFE didn't get into Walmart's head.
They are going to sell what is required to meet manufacturer specifications on a plethora of vehicles.
It just so happens that OW20 happens to be the presently preferred flavor.
Retailers make sales (and money) satisfying consumer needs and wants.

Yep, we can still order oil in any viscosity, and this is an excellent price.

Odd, I ordered a box of Mobil 1 0-40 Euro a week ago. Search came up with a good number of different Mobil 1 flavors. It is also in stock at my local Wally store. What I notice is a larger shelf area of SuperTech with lots of 20wt flavors but far fewer 30wt and one 10w-30 choice.

My local WalMart usually has all brands and weights one could want.
Always have plenty on the shelf of Mobil , Valvoline , SuperTech and even the Royal Purple Jugs.
They are sometimes a little short on Catrol Edge + Pennzoils. The one they are really short on most of the times lately has been the Castrol brand. This started about 6 months ago. The Castrol brand section has been empty a lot lately.

WalMart search is not good.
What bothers me most is their inventory system online! Before I recently made a 2 hour drive from home to cross the border into Niagara Falls NY, I checked the Walmart website and it told me that one store had 6 jugs of VRP 0w20 in stock and when I got there they had none, so I had to get 5w20 that time. And on another occasion I checked before going and it said that the other Walmart there finally had VRP in stock (my usual location that’s closer to the border but has not had VRP at all) but when I got there they had none and the employee working in the area checked and said they didn’t carry it at all in their store 😡 So that day I had to pay closer to $40 to get VRP from Autozone so that it wasn’t a wasted trip for me.

Now you can see why I’m anxious for VRP to be sold in Canada! 🤔

that is not what happened. OP had a car on his account so it was only returning "parts" that fit his vehicle.. be it oil, filters, wipers, etc.

Happened to me once at the AAP clearance.. you have to fully remove all vehicles on account to actually be able to search.
otherwise it hides 90% of the results.
