Mobil Super vs Mobil One

What's the difference? I never heard of Mobil Super until a few minutes ago.

Yes it is! I haven't seen Mobil Super in any local autostore nor Walmart in well over a decade. I didn't even know Super was still available. I hadn't seen it in so long that I couldn't remember the difference between Super and One.

Mobil Full Synthetic is at Canadian Walmarts right now for $17.38 U.S. / 5 U.S. quarts.
Dexos Gen 3 SAE SP.

Your point is likely valid. Oreilly used to carry Super, but that was years ago. If I was going to use a Mobil product, it'd be Mobil Super Syn Blend, especially if available in a high mileage version.

I later remembered Oreilly and Walmart used to stock Super in my local area, but that was 8+ years ago. I never knew much info about Super until learning about it in this thread.

I've seen Mobil 1 for years, of course. I just noticed Mobil synthetic. How are they different? The Mobil is cheaper, at least on Amazon.

Walmart is advertising Mobil Full Synthetic 0W-20 and 5W-20 for C$26.97 (plus eco fee plus 12% sales tax).

That's cheaper than SuperTech (not shown in the flyer, but seen recently for C$28.88 plus eco fee plus sales tax).

Is Walmart moving away from ST to a lower grade of Mobil synthetic as its house oil?

I went to the local store today and I ran into Mobil Full Synthetic oil.. However I also saw Mobil 1 right next to it. The label on the mobil looks to be old school ish and I noticed its missing the 1 for mobil 1. Is this just a refresh like a new label kinda thing? or is this new "Mobil" oil supposed to be better quality or better then the normal mobil 1?

Found this Mobil Full Synthetic on sale at Autozone ($15 5qt, $4 singles) so I picked some up for my Taurus. What exactly is it? It’s not Mobil 1, it’s not Super, I’ve never noticed it before. Decent stuff? Thank you!

This stuff is interesting. 100ppm more moly than Mobil 1 EP, about 300ppm more Calcium, and about 200ppm less Magnesium.

Hey guys I picked up a regular grey bottle of Mobil 1 5w30 synthetic and I tried looking for something that says full synthetic on the packaging but I could only find "advanced synthetic"
Is this just a synthetic blend? Or what? Because I tried finding the same packaging on there website and it says full synthetic on there

Does anyone have a current (2024) SDS for this exact oil? Mobil does not seem to make the SDS’s for their products available on their site any more, and they state you have to call their help desk. I would rather not do that. I would like to know if they are using GTL base oil in this product and in what percentage. Also, I would like to know where they source their GTL base oils from.

I saw 5 qt jugs of Mobil Super Synthetic (same type of brand logo as the Mobil Super 5000) for sale at the local store. It carries the same API SN and ILSAC GF-5 specs as the Mobil 1 next to it.

What's the deal on this? I thought Mobil 1 non-EP was a Group III basestock, what did they use for Mobil Super Synthetic?

My understanding is both are full synthetic . How do they compare to each other ? To other synthetic oils ?

We bought a 2015 Sonic LS 1.8l Automatic about a month ago . The warranty requires Dexos specification for oil . Which , from what I can determine , equates to either full synthetic or synthetic blend .

Both of the Mobil synthetics carry the Dexos brand . Would they be as good or better than the Dexos oil Chevy put into the car ?

I just bought a new 2024 Ford F-250 XL 4x4 with the 6.8L V8 gas engine (A code). I'm going to do my first oil and filter change at 1,000 miles, then again at 5,000 miles and then every 5,000 miles after that.

I was on Mobil 1's website, and they have three different non-high milage 5W-30 oils for it. Should I use the Truck & SUV oil, or does it really matter? I'd like to select an oil and filter brand/type and stick with it every time.

Mobil 1 5W-30 Advanced Full Synthetic Engine Oil.
Mobil 1 5W-30 Truck & SUV Oil.
Mobil 1 5W-30 Extended Performance Oil.

Mobil Super Synthetic 5w30 has an HTHS of 3.3, Mobil emailed me that information. That puts it above the 3.1 of Mobil 1 5w30. This combined with a thicker 100 viscosity has made this my oil of choice. I buy ACDelco Dexos Full Synthetic. The ones in the Mobil style containers are defintely Mobil Super Synthetic. Good oil.

Just saw this at a local walmart store here in Nanaimo BC for $23.97.. imo pretty good price for a 5qt full syn oil.. any idea whats the difference between mobil and mobil 1? This mobil 5w30 api service sp.. this is the first time i have seen this bottle.. i thought mobil 1 changed their packaging but went to double check and noticed mobil 1 still uses the old packaging... there was 0w20 5w20 and 5w30...
