Just saw this at a local walmart store here in Nanaimo BC for $23.97.. imo pretty good price for a 5qt Full Synthetic oil.. any idea whats the difference between mobil and mobil 1? This mobil 5w30 api service sp.. this is the first time i have seen this bottle.. i thought mobil 1 changed their packaging but went to double check and noticed mobil 1 still uses the old packaging... there was 0w20 5w20 and 5w30...

If you compare it to AFE, looking at the SDS', the "Full Synthetic" is mostly Group III based.

AFE, has Group III and Group IV basestock oils

No. Mostly group III base oil. Chevron is doing the same thing with their “Synthetic Technology” on the Havoline brand.

These brands now have the flagship “full synthetic” and a lower tier “synthetic.”
Counterfeit?

...and except for extended arctic cold or Death Valley heat, GroupIII Synthetics will give you all the protection you need at a 7500 mile oci.
My brother wrote from Fairbanks, while the oil was draining from his F150, that since it warmed up to +10°F he was changing his oil.
Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20

If its $24 in Canada 🇨🇦, I wonder #1 if our Walmarts will sell it and #2 at what price. $19, $20 maybe? It will be interesting.

Also interesting that ExxonMobil are placing oci limits on all their products now. The back label on this product line says "Protection up to 12,000 kilometers."
