Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil HELP!

Hey guys, I have a Nissan versa 1.8S with 3K miles on it. I just changed the oil, now im using Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w30, with a mobil 1 filter (M108). I drive a 60/40 highway/city mix, and was wondering if 7.5K/6 months was too long for oil change intervals. Should the oil filter be changed every 3K miles, or will it be fine.

This is plenty often enough OCI. Probably could go 10k. No need to change filter sooner.

I would stick to the warranity limits on time and miles, but after that 10,000 mile OCIs isn't a problem with Mobil 1 oils. I've been doing it for 31 years with their oil with no problems at all.

That's fine. The OCI and the filter. I agree, 10,000 is probably in the realm of possibility but 7500 is an easy, safe amount.

My last 3 vehicles have easily gone past 250 K miles (no known signs of engine wear, using Mobil 1 0W20 and 20K OCI's.
One is a severe service tow vehicle, oil changes are still on the same schedule, this is about once a year. Anyway, I suspect your 7500 mile OCI's will be a piece of cake for that oil.

The oldest of the three would have used mostly Mobil 1 5W30 for the first 125 K miles - 0W20 was not yet unavailable.

I replaced the valve cover gasket on the commuter Escort at about 210 K miles - the valve area seemed very clean and no sludge or debris was visible anywhere.

Ironically the failed valve cover gasket never did leak until it just jumped out in one corner, like squirting out a watermelon seed - and left a sudden stain on the garage floor each night for a week, until I could change it.
Perhaps that was caused by Mobil 1 being TOO slippery!! LOL

What is your driving style?
Does your car fully warm up or are trips usually short?

Great oil choice. M1 will cake-walk that OCI, the warranty notwithstanding.

That will be fine. I have been doing 6 month oil changes with mostly M1 for the last 6 years on my Camry.

7.5k is more than good with M1.
